When do you figure the Seattle numbers will come in?
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 07:23 PM by WilliamPitt
Am I reading this wrong, or are the vote totals very low right now? Lots of people in Seattle, right? Help me out here.

On edit: Is it because those numbers are delegates and not voters?

What time do the polls close?

On edit: I get reminded of the time difference so many times by God_bush_n_cheney, when I have to go to bed to get up for work and it is early evening there.

4. They are delegates
not voters. The delegate totals are that are ever reported in a true caucus state.

8. 30% of delegates reported
http://www.king5.com/sharedcontent/northwest/specialreport/stories/NW_020704WABcaucus_resultsEL.87293dbf.html

Delegates selected: 8042/26961 (30%)

Precincts reporting: 3588/6552 (55%)

Obviously they are reporting the small population precincts first. This doesn't necessarily reflect the final numbers, as the large population precincts in Washington are the more progressive population centers.

There is a substantive cultural divide between the rural and urban population centers in WA.

11. Kerry is predicted to win
Washington and Michigan by large numbers. Some absentee vote all ready counted. Exit polls etc,. MSNBC and tweety are on. With the usual suspects. Fineman is such a pain.

12. there are no absentee votes in a caucus
I don't see the need for exit polls either as the delegates are already decided before you leave the caucus and will promptly be reported to the party.

10. Number of delegates is based on:
the calculations here:
http://www.wa-democrats.org/del_guide.doc

6550 precincts, one delegate per 50 votes for Gore in 2000 --> 16415 total delegates to the next level.

15. With 76% precincts reporting, 50% of delegates aren't in.
That's 15200 delegates.
