How is the new and improved FEMA performing in Buffalo?
No doubt, lessons learned from Katrina have made this bush agency a lean, mean, citizen assisting machine.

1. THEY ARE NOT!!!!! FEMA claims they come in after the fact.........
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 09:39 AM by Double T
and access whether THEY will or will NOT provide ANY aid. Buffalo and Western New York are a disaster with ALL the destruction. Since the same bunglers are in charge NOW, that were in charge THEN, 'WE' would expect the same level of incompetence 'WE' have experienced from ANY and ALL Agencies run by the bushco administration.

3. Hey Teammate
I live in South Mississippi. I'm well aware of what FEMA is not. One might expect it is an ineffective federal agency on purpose.

6. With the bushco administration FEMA, 'YOU and 'WE' are.........
on our own. I have watched several segments on TV regarding FEMA's complete lack of support for the people and property of the Gulf Coast Region and it is PATHETIC!!! Combine that with the criminal corporate insurance companies and 'YOU' have one disaster after another, after another!! The bastards have left ALMOST EVERYONE 'twisting in the wind' in more ways then one. It is a NATIONAL DISGRACE for so many reasons and I can not wait to vote these lower than lowlifes out of office in '06 and '08!!!! HELP FROM THE FEDS AND CORRUPT CORPORATE INSURANCE COMPANIES IS ON THE WAY MY ASS!!!!

10. Since upstate has been a stronger Republican leaning area...
Do you think this will sour some people on voting R? Or maybe I'm off base about their leanings. Perhaps Buffalo is more Dem because of the university.

12. Buffalo is MORE Democratic, burbs are repub......
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 10:56 AM by Double T
Tom Reynolds, of 'Foley Predator Fame', district is in the eastern burbs of Buffalo. Currently Jack Davis, http://www.jackdavis.org/new/ is in the lead. So MANY people were/are soured on the repubs BEFORE the snow disaster, I believe and the polls are indicating that the Dems are going to have an extremely strong showing in the upcoming elections. You are correct, there are a lot of conservatives, RWers and repubs in Upstate New York but with Spitzer, Cuomo etc. in the lead, I believe New York State will go BIG for the Democrats.

16. Thanks!
I was born and raised in NYC and remember well the days of Gov Rocky. But I've lived out west since the mid 70s. This is a big development for NY. Colorado is trending the same. We were red, then purple. We could even go blue all the way with a Dem governor and state house (if we can keep the state house blue).

4. Applying bushco logic and intelligence, THAT makes perfect sense......
always running in the opposite direction of the problem. Does THAT qualify for 'cut and run' status????

5. Bypassed Buffalo to get to Amherst first (Reynolds Dist.)
Did not contact our mayor but rather seem to be dealing directly with republicans in the suburbs.
"Pretended on the phone not to know that Buffalo was in Erie County even tho Buffalo is the largest municipality in that county". (According to Brian Higgins & our Mayor at a press conference).

National Guard is clearing tree debris in Reynolds district while our Mayer (Buffalo) has had to hire contractors directly to help. (Our guys were much faster at least clearing the roads even tho Fed Assistance is all flowing to 'Burbs.- this is my observation)

14. Remember when the Mississippi flooded while Clinton was prez?
The people of IA were gushing praise on FEMA, saying they had never been helped so completely or so quickly. How time do change.

People who hate government shouldn't govern.

13. If you're going to get hit by a disaster, best to do it a month before
an election. Same with buying gas.
