“With her campaign low on cash, U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris said Tuesday that she is trying to sell her house in Washington, D.C., to raise money for her fight against Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson… ‘I am even selling my home,’ Harris said before a speech here. ‘I’m committed.’ ” the Orlando Sentinel reported this morning.

The paper notes that she’s said that before without calling in a Realtor to put her home on the market, and that she doesn’t appear close to spending the $10 million of her own money that she said she would use on her seemingly doomed campaign.

She reported about $963,000 cash on hand at the end of September, far less than Nelson, who had about $6.8 million in the bank. With no help from the Republican Party leadership, Harris may have little choice but to keep self-funding. “A week’s worth of TV ads in Florida costs almost $2 million, and a good air campaign is virtually imperative for candidates in a state so large and diverse,” the St. Petersburg Times notes today.

Here in NM, we have the neocon darling and rising star Heather Wilson (R-COW) who has been running a nasty, negative media blitz since late July, when she was considered the probable winner in a close election. I just flipped on a local station for the weather, and there were 3 of her spots within 5 minutes, 2 nasty ones and one calling her a moderate.

I think her media barrage is failing. She's falling behind and the election is getting less close by the day.

I guess people are sick of constant shit throwing, AT LAST.
