Metro Transit driver allowed to avoid buses with gay-themed ads

A Metro Transit bus driver who objects on religious grounds is being allowed to abstain from driving buses that carry gay-themed ads.

Officials with the public transit system said they've made a reasonable accommodation to her beliefs.

But a union leader said the bus company is condoning intolerance, and that drivers were never before exempted from buses carrying other ads they found objectionable.

Issues of whether employees can refuse tasks that they feel violate their religious convictions has been gaining attention.

Many Muslim taxi drivers serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport refuse to accept passengers who are carrying alcohol. Some pharmacists across the country insist on the right to refuse to fill contraceptive prescriptions.

1. Can a driver refuse to allow "gay-looking" passengers to board?
I sure hope there's an end to this crap somewhere short of a concentration camp. The gay-looking passenger sneered at my "ALL FAGS MUST DIE" button after boarding, so I shot him in the face, as was my right to do since my religion dictates that blasphemous sinners must not be suffered to live and my religion demands the tolerance of its full and free exercise by the state.

3. This is a dumb issue.
Get some quaker to refuse to drive busses with military stuff on it, or Muslims to refuse to drive busses with bank stuff, because its related to lending practices sinful in Sharia, and it will all add up. Eventually people will realize that religious tolerance can't include intolerance, and things will right themselves.

5. I don't know what's so hard about figuring this out.
If a sikh wants to wear a thing on his head, or a christian a crucifix, or an atheist a darwin fish, you can tolerate it. But If the Christian says he can't tolerate the darwin fish, or the atheist says he can't tolerate the thing on the sikh's head, or the Sihk can't tolerate the cross, and claim it comes from religious freedoms, then we can't tolerate it. You can't tolerate intolerance, and this is intolerance.
