Max Cleland in Idaho on Jesus as a Republican....

"Cleland also blasted the Republicans for using Christians in the party's efforts to keep political power. Although GOP leadership puts forth a public facade of morality, he noted, "they're some of the most lyin' and cheatin' people we've had."

"They've tried to make Jesus a precinct captain for the Republicans," he charged. "The Bible didn't say whether Jesus was a Democrat or a Republican, but he was a carpenter and every carpenter I know is a Democrat," he noted. "And Mary sure didn't ride into Bethlehem on an elephant. So don't be fooled by people who think they're holier than thou."

The article omits a line where Cleland said "Jesus was also a teacher, and every teacher I know is a Democrat"

He is a genuine hero. Here's hoping the next Democratic president finds a place for him in the cabinet.

2. I never got over what his state did to him.
Course I am a 'value' voter so never vote GOP. Mine are a little more 'right'.

4. I don't like to sound like I believe in conspiracies, but there are.....
serious questions about the election in Georgia in 2002. I hate what these bastards have done to my belief in democracy.

8. I do not like that we have no paper to see after the vote.
When you hear it is all done before you get to vote it is scary. People think that way and say it. We sound like a third world country. Very bad. Course my first vote was for Ike so I have been at it a long time and one thing I can always count on it hearing people say this' they are all crooks'. It took me years to really sit down and figure out what I really wanted and found I was really a Dem. or Liberal. I can recall fighting with my father about voting for Muskie. I did vote for him and my father would not. Cleaning up Maine was what Muskie wanted to do and in years past my father said, 'well I guess you were right he did it well'. We used to laugh about it. He always stayed an old style Republican.

3. Goldie Hawn
Remember that old TV show where Goldie Hawn said "sock it to me" well I think since the republcians are always using slogans the dems should come up with this one....."Sock it to EM" Darn if the dems are doing just that ....sock it to em again and again.

5. The Republican chickenhawks have chosen to laugh
and denigrate those veterans who served our country. Chambliss was a total joke.

6. I still think the best Democratic slogan is "Had Enough? Vote Democratic"
With a picture of Bush, Cheney, Hastert, Foley and Abramoff in the backgropund.
