Just saw Edwards LIVE in RICHMOND

A crowd (good looking crowd I might add) of I'd say about 200-250 at a theater near VCU that has been converted to a restaurant. The "Hyperlink" cafe is a minority owned business (of the Macintosh camp) that has been open a week.

My in-laws had seen him speak a couple of days ago in Roanoke so this morning I looked to see if he or Kerry were speaking anywhere in the area. I called Kerry's HQ and the said they didn't have his schedule. Edwards website www.johnedwards2004.com had his schedule on it and it is only about 1 1/2 miles away so we went.

Fantastic speech. Yeah it was his stump speech but he isn't afraid to say things that others are afraid to say or bring up-RACE, INEQUALITY, The *gasp* POOR, etc.

To us southerners he said the "the south is not George Bush's backyard this is MY backyard!" thing-- he also said that Virginia is up for grabs and everyone knows it and that he will be back when he gets the nomination (psst follow Warner's model and hit route 58). He also said that southerners are "Tired of the Republicans taking them for granted and Democrats not paying attention to them"

Very well given especially how many times he has given it.

Unfortunately he left after about 5 minutes to get to the Jefferson-Jackson dinner at the Convention Center.

I think I will vote for Edwards on Tuesday.

Edwards is a good speaker. At work today at the grocery store, saw people campaigning for three of the candiates, Kerry, Dean, and Clark, the Kerry guy ran out of pamphlets so quick. The others werent passing out pamphlets oddly. No Edwards sightings here in NoVA but I think he will do well in our state.
