Congresswoman on page board buried file on husband's child abuse allegation

A file allegedly suppressed by Congresswoman Heather Wilson (R-NM) has been obtained by RAW STORY.

In 1995, just three days into her tenure as Secretary of the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department, Wilson removed a routine working file alleging that her husband had engaged in inappropriate contact with a minor. The file was then transferred to the department's attorney in her own Albuquerque office, where it soon went missing.

At the time, a local investigative news team learned about the swap, but could not confirm certain details of the file. They were not able to recover the document itself.

More than ten years later, RAW STORY has uncovered and confirmed the authenticity of the police incident report believed to be contained in the missing dossier. Filed as a case of child abuse in 1993, it contends that Wilson's husband Jay Hone, an Albuquerque attorney, touched a then-16 year old boy "in a manner that was not welcome."

And...this is just coming out NOW??? It supposedly happened in 1995. What is the deal here? And like Foley, she was on a committee (in her home state) that is support to protect children. What is the Repuke Party??? The political party of child sexual abuse enablers?

From what I have read, Wilson is in a tough race with the Dem candidate, Patricia Madrid ~~ in a recent poll, Madrid leads by 8%. I am hoping Madrid wins. Frankly, there is NO place in Congress for anyone who covers up for a child molestor. Sheesh...seems like the more I hear, the more I see that a bunch of Repuke legislators have a ton in common with Hasturd and his views on how minors should be protected from sexual predators.

Just HOW can anyone cover up shit like this??? It is beyond me. The party of "family values?" GMAFB!!!

2. This is what the RS article said about the husband:
"...Jay Hone, an Albuquerque attorney..."

Doing a bit of googling, this is what I found:

He seems to rep insurance companies:

for Third-Party Defendant-Appellee Allstate Insurance Company

The Hone Law Firm, P.C.

Jay R. Hone

Albuquerque, NM

http://www.supremecourt.nm.org/opinions/VIEW/06ca-034.html

And, that tells me NOTHING good about him ~~ particularly in that he represents ALLSTATE.

And, I read another case in which he rep'd them and the whole thing was an appeal by him and his law office to get out of representing an insured.

See link: http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=nm&vol=06ca-034&invol=2

That is about all I found out about him in addition to the fact that it looks like he pawed their 16-year-old male babysitter.

What a guy.....:sarcasm:

3. So the wife is enabling her husband's molestation behaviors
...would that count as criminal accessory?

Her career path began at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where she was the first woman to command a basic training unit. Although she had planned to go to flight school, she was accepted as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where she received master's and doctoral degrees in international relations.

An Air Force officer for seven years, she was a negotiator and political adviser to the U.S. Air Force in England, and a defense planning officer for NATO in Belgium, where her work included arms control negotiations.

From 1989 to 1991, she was on the National Security Council staff in the Bush administration, as director for European Defense Policy and Arms Control. She moved to New Mexico in 1991 to marry Albuquerque lawyer Jay Hone, who had been her law professor at the Air Force Academy.

Wilson said she was shocked by a congressional panel's report in 2003 on a sexual assault scandal at the Air Force Academy, her alma mater.

"It was even more damning than I originally thought it would be," Wilson said. "I am particularly concerned that this is the first time that we have had evidence that senior Air Force leaders had known of the problem for so long _ and failed for so long to address it even when they knew about it."

Shocked, shocked she tells us - she was also on the Energy and Commerce Committee - Enron, Cheney meetings??

and more..http://www.abqtrib.com/albq/nw_local_state_government/article/0,2564,ALBQ_19859_4756626,00.html

snip

While Wilson got a $10,000 contribution from a PAC connected to Delay, she returned it and later opposed Delay returning to his post. (Wikipedia says she's received $46,959 from ARMPAC (Delay) so far)

snip

She also had concerns about a federal domestic eavesdropping program and asked for an inquiry into the surveillance. As well as being a member of the House Intelligence Committee, Wilson is chairwoman of that panel's subcommittee on Technical and Tactical Intelligence, which oversees the National Security Administration.

Would say that she's squarely inside the Bushco. circle.
