I recall Webb as SECNAV in the 80's and I remember him as an overbearing pain in the ass, but I say that in a complimentary fashion. There was never any doubt who the boss was but he had the Sailor's best interests as his number one priority.

I kinda like the idea of supporting and defending the constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. The constitution makes things good for all of us. Some of us don't get it. Specially those who thump the outside of the bible and pick and choose the inside of it.

starts with "...PRESERVE, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America." I think there may be a reason why the verb "PRESERVE" appears first. And bush did swear to it, did he not?

BTW - I ALSO like your sig line - which should be required reading for anyone here. Note, the oath of office for president also stipulates very clearly that the new president does NOT swear to preserve, protect, and defend the Bible of the United States of America.
