I wish you would believe me when I say the Dems will take back Congress
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 01:27 AM by Daylin Byak
Seriously the negativeity got to stop, I don't care what the media or Zogby has to say, I truely believe that the Democrats will take back Congress, with all the corruption and scandals and Chimpy's dismal ratings, we are primed to make a dent. I read complaining that the Democrats don't do a good at getting there message across, bull! There's not a day go by that I read what Democrats have to say about Bush and the other issues and Rahm Emanuel of the DCCC and Chuck Schumer have done great jobs of finding candidates to run againist valuerable incmbents like Bob Ney(if he still was running) and Rick Santorum and there hard work is paying off as some of these great candidates like Heath Schuler of North Carolina and Brad Ellsworth of Indiana are poised to beat incumbents that of two years ago seemed to be unbeatable.

The foleygate deal won't wear off in my opinion, the images they seen on the news have been etched in the minds of the american voters and when they go to the polls on November they will think of guys like Foley and Speaker Hastert and say to themselves: "These guys know what the Congressman was doing and didn't do anything to stop it, do I really want that party running Congress?" or those people will just stay home, take your pick.

As for what was going in a previous thread regarding Congressman Harold Ford. Jr of Tennessee (who is running for the Senate) endorseing Lieberman well good for him, cause if you wanted to get elected in a place like Tennessee you have to come across as a moderate; a centrist and that is what Ford did, good for him.

So please, look at the bright side of things the Repukes are in the shitter and the Democrats are getting there voices out to the peopke and the Democrats have founded some great candidates for this election cycle.

The only thing you really have to worry about is election fraud, that is a big issue come election but if we work hard and it ain't as close as you think(the results) it will be hard for guys like Ken Blackwell to steal the elections, so work like your always three points down in the pools and good things will pay off.

Besides that, were looking good, despite what some people think.

We will win or atleast take one branch that will happen.

3. Then believe me
Whats stopping you? Forget what Herold Ford said about Lieberman, we have a real chance here. Americans are pissed and tired of being lied to by the repuke party and they want chance, it's time for the other party to take control and they know it.

We will make dents in this election, mark my words we will. You just have to trust my judgement.

4. actually the real reason americans are mad
1) There is no NY team in the world series
2) Smith was cancelled
3) North Korea has a nuclear bomb and we haven't attacked Iran yet

The election was stolen in 2000, stolen in 2004 and a "chin up buttercup" speech isn't gonna take my sincere belief that we will somehow prevent this election from being stolen too.

Republicans are found guilty of true violations of a moral code (read pedophillia) and the republicans use it as a chance to link homosexuals with priest molestation.

Republicans are found GUILITY of commiting monetary criminal acts and the republicans try to change the story to "Look at Reid, everyone does it, dont be mad"

5. we have MASSIVE popular support to tap into. we just need to GOTV.
i totally agree that the negativity does NOT help. if you are concerned about theft, volunteer to work poll monitoring with pfaw.org, donate to verifiedvoting.org, etc.

the media wants us to believe that the results are their new product that they'll reveal on Nov. 7th and early on the 8th. wrong! the results are for us to determine by going out there, finding the MASSIVE numbers of people who are fed up with insanity, dishonesty, and violence, and make sure they vote. period.

of the 300 million people in this country, not all of them are over eighteen. that leaves let's say 200 million adults eligible to vote (sorry, don't know the actual number).
about half of those eligible to vote don't even register. 100 million.
and even in a big exciting presidential election, about half of registered voters don't bother to vote. 50 million.
of those voting in any given election, you need 50% plus 1 to win.
for your own precinct, how many people are registered, and how many voted in the last election? assume you need about 50% of that number plus one to win; 55% or more to have a comfortable win; 60% to have a landslide. it's still not a huge number if you team up with other people.
i hope we are ALL doing this on our days off and evenings.

it's all about the ground game--we don't need to convince any undecideds or win over any Republicans; from our perspective it is better not to rile them up at all. let them forget all about the election, and for G*d's sakes don't gloat or get them to circle their wagons when they may be inclined to stay home. all we need to do is find enough of our people, and there are PLENTY of them, especially this time, make sure they are registered, and get them to their polling places. that's 95% of the battle, and for the rest we have experts we can call on.

if each one of us multiplies our vote by 20, by getting otherwise sensible people who weren't planning to vote (or precocious 18-yr-olds on the right side of our issues) to go do it this time, we will see a glorious victory.

enough with the doom and gloom. we have work to do.

8. We're going to take the House but the Senate is a maybe.
Taking control of the House is a real big deal. We have a good shot at the Senate too, but that's more of a horse race. There's about 4 very close races and we have to win them all to succeed.
