USA Today article on Minnesota races and political advertising

The cover story in USA Today contains an interesting article which tracks political advertising on one Minnesota tv station.

It shows that over 24 hours, there were 59 political ads. Of these 11 were GOP (not the candidate, the party) ads against Democrat Patty Wetterling, House candidate in the 6th district. (In the last two polls, Patty has pulled ahead of right wing, gay bashing, global warming denying, teach intelligent design, minister-endorsed opponent). What is striking is that even though the GOP aired 11 negative ads against Patty, not one Democratic ad aired for any of the minnesota candidates in the 24 hour period. This 6th district race is well worth an investment of time and money. I don't get it.
