What happens if exit polls and final voting results are hugely disparate
on November 7th? This isn't 2004. We've been there, done that. But what do we do if it just happens all over again?

Since it has been 2 years since that disaster, what is actually in place to challenge the same scenario? Have any strategies in the legal system been developed? Is there more awareness in the corporate media than there was in 2004?

1. Ever see the movie V for Vendetta?
I think we should all don Guy Fawlkes masks and storm Congress.

2. We "Go Mexican" on them.
Take to the streets. Put up a tent city in D.C. Ask the U.N. for help.

5. Sadly, this will never happen
The US is comprised mostly of soft, weak and paranoid people who do and think what the Tee Vee tells them to. If it weren't so, we wouldn't be having this discussion today.

6. I like that!
However, it won't change much, really.

I was hoping for someone to say that a think tank or two had come up with a great legal challenge to such tactics.

Unfortunately, most Americans will not riot in the streets. They just won't.

This is unacceptable.

3. The media is well aware of this, and has been for years.
They just don't want to pursue it because they profit quite handsomely with the current corruption.

I'm afraid that, if there is another successful fraud, the same scenario will play out. The media will play along and continue to prop up the fraud as they have for six years.

If there's an effort somewhere to bring attention to this, it will fail because the media will refuse to cover it, or it will be covered in a derisive and minimizing way.

13. True - we can only compare pre-election polls to result - then marvel at
the ability of the GOP to close the gap in the last 72 hours - heck of a GOTV effort there Rove will ne the media story the day after if we do not prevent the standard GOP fraud/theft Dem vote suppression - plus fixed electronic machines in areas that expect large Dem majorities, so as to "find" new GOP votes "discovered by that marvelous GOP political machine - and to sadly note that the Democrats in those areas were not as motivated as we thought - what a con job.

Sold to us by the media for years - and now that we know that it is a con job. what is the Democratic Party doing about it.

10. #1 - ignore early exit poll results and go out and vote. Especially if
Dems are given a win early on.

#2 - If there is a huge discrepancy..don't concede the election until after all investigations and recounts have been exhausted.

#3 - Don't assume the vote is wrong and exit polls are right. It could be the exit polls are off and give Dems 'the win' and that keeps late-in-the-day Dem voters home and motivates late-in-the-day repuke voters to go in and vote. That is just my speculation and that of the "reluctant responder" (conservative liars) theory. We don't have enough evidence for any theory. So just vote. Vote early. Or vote.

12. Surely you know by now that exit polling
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 06:23 PM by AtomicKitten
doesn't work in the United States and only works in other countries to detect fraud.

*** Insert sarcasm smiley here ***

The exit polling services will probably be conveniently "unavailable" as they were in 2002 when some of the most outrageous disparities occurred.

14. What exit polls?
And even when there are exit polls, the results are only used after polls close. Back in the 60's and 70's, major news outlets released the information obtained from exit polling early, and there was a huge outcry. As it is, as soon as various polls close they'll call races if they feel they have enough information to do so. Which won't be too much of a problem during a mid-term election, but it can be during a Presidential year.

15. Here is the way I look at this
Twice we allowed the elections to be stolen and at that time there was outrage and protests that were larger than the protests we have had of late .

Now the citizens who are now facing loosing their jobs and homes or have lost them already , the workers who are in poverty fighting to keep going and those who are working and doing ok but can see they have a good chance of failing soon , this is all about the lie of a growing economy .

Then there are those who have lost friends or family in this false war and those who have people over there fighting right now .

Now if ALL of these people create a join effort and stick to it until the end amd they do actually protest taking all risks involved then we may have an impact .

I cannot see enough people actually protesting if they have something to loose by doing so , they have their life and security and jobs .

I fear the only ones who will protest are to down on luck and the country conscience . Do I have hope , no , I have a dream right now .

I do feel the elections will be attempted to be stolen once again .
