Just saw his debate with Chafee on c-span. Wow!
Don't miss the replay. What a great Democrat.

He is a very good communicator. Chafee was defensive and forced to hide behind his republican agenda while Sheldon held forth with his own forceful prescription.
The most riveting moment was in the closing statement when Sheldon told how he had listened to the people of his state that he had encountered, and that he had heard their appeals and concerns. He asked for help to carry that forward. Very strong, very articulate, very passionate.

And while I agree with you, I gotta say I feel a little sorry for Chafee. He's the least conservative Repub. in Congress. He voted against the war and even against Bush in '04. We need Whitehousoe to win, and Chafee has made some bad votes, but he always looks like he's holding back tears and trying to put on a happy face. I may get bashed for what I said, but that's how I feel about him.

7. he put a happy face on republicanism |
|
not much of an endorsement.
He was with us on some things but swore alliegance, several times to the republican party. That's not a 'straddle' that the nation, or I suspect, his state, can afford.
