I have not heard anything about how much money was raised for the 06 elections from the internet from either party for that matter.

1. I haven't looked, but I'm sure, if you check the DFA site you'll
find some info. It's been being run by his brother since Howard became Chairman.

7. The link has an article explaining it
They say that in pursuing his wide-ranging “50-state” organizing strategy, Dr. Dean may be courting the same state-party disarray that plagued the party’s data-management plans prior to the Terry McAuliffe years. Meanwhile, the tech savants associated with Dr. Dean say that Mr. Ickes’ group is draining vital resources from their own data-crunching work. Some of them have suggested that it is actually an attempt by the 2008 Hillary campaign to sidestep the national organization’s apparatus entirely, a charge that Catalist insiders dismiss out of hand.

snip:

Then, when Dr. Dean took over last year, he essentially made a clean sweep of the people who had engineered the nascent national database effort. Laura Quinn, who captained the D.N.C.’s data drives under Mr. McAuliffe, was among the early casualties of the regime change. She soon partnered with Mr. Ickes at Catalist. The firm has now raised $9 million in backing, including a good chunk from financier-cum-liberal-philanthropist George Soros; its total start-up target of $11.5 million now looks well within reach.

Now, techies associated with the D.N.C. are seething over the notion of competition from within the party. “Laura Quinn left things a mess,” said a consultant familiar with the situation, who added that entire states’ worth of voter ID’s from 2003 were missing.

8. I posted that as well.
I think Quinn quit when Dean came on board, several others did as well. I don't think the article is exactly right. I do think there are too many damn databases competing.

9. Bottom line is you don't have competing data bases over at the GOP
You have coordination. That's the way you win.

5. I think it's lost its punch
I get so damned many pleas for money via the internet - moveon.org, DCCC, DLC, Clinton Foundation, Wes Clarke, you name it.

It was a lot more effective when Dr. Dean was the only one asking - I was a lot more likely to whip out the credit card.

Now, they're more likely to get my feet than my money

6. Do you want FEC figures? Not sure of the purpose of the post?
The DNC did good fundraising in the cycle...outraised the DSCC and the DCCC even while trying to build on small donors..new concept for party.

The last few days over 8400 NEW donors with donor match.
