If Dean drops out, can his delegates still influence the Dem platform? |
|
Even though Dean hasn't won anything, he's still garnered a number of delegates who will represent him in July. But if he drops out, can he still use those delegates to influence the party plaform (like he's said repeatedly he wants to do) or do they become null in void.?

1. Kerry's sweep of victories is UNPRECEDENTED in recent memory of |
|
contested primaries.
Unless things change and Kerry looses some more states, even the super-delegates that Dean currently has will move over to Kerry at the convention.
No combination of candidates seem likely to amass enough delegates for the delegate count to have any impact on the convention at this point.
The only negotiating leverage is what one can deliver towards a general election victory for the party or for house or senate seats.

3. Maybe not but I think that |

Dean paved the way for Kerry to criticise bush and get away with it. Dean organized a lot of demos to get to the polls this primary season. And to donate money, I just think Dean's people are poorer than Kerry's .
