Bill Maher is wiping the floor with Scarborough on MSNBC tonight |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-24-06 08:42 PM by feistydem
If you aren't watching, you should tune in. Bill is not playing footsie and I think Joe Buddy thought he would be the comic tonight, not the ass-kicker he's being.
Go Bill!

1. Watching right now ... |
|
"It's good to be obstructionists"
Then goes on to analogize stopping Bush with stopping a drunk from driving a car.
Brilliant!

2. They are in two totally different intellectual classes |

I love Bill Maher. He occasionally says something that makes me say, "huh"; but I think that is so he can maintain that independent persona he likes to project. However, I believe he was one of the most insightful progressives of our day.

6. I wrote to MSNBC - Scarborough was just sooo outclassed |
|
Scarborough was dense and labeling. Maher would have none of it. But he could not come to word because in his desire to look intelligent in the face of Maher's obvious intellect Joe talked over him, interrupted, did not understand the point Bill was making, and kept digging a bigger hole with more labels and cliches about "liberals". Maher was disgusted. Maher will be back tomorrow... it's scheduled anyway...I would not be surprised if he does not return.

4. Bill Maher did a great job tonight. |
|
He waited until stupid stopped talking and then a second more and it seemed sort of like a quiet sarcasm. Finally when stupid stopped talking and Bill Maher took over it was incredible. Scarborough backed down, I suppose he wanted to make sure Maher would come back on his show maybe?

What's the big deal. We need more of it. Hillary supported the war and that bothers me more and more each day. I love Hillary but she will lose us the presidency without a doubt.
On edit: Hillary still supports the war. That's the real problem. She won't even apologize for her mistake as Edwards has done.

8. I have actually enjoyed Joe lately |
|
He has been pretty hard on the republicans for the past couple months but he always stops short and takes cheap shots at the dems. He is whack to think that mainstream America is more like Delay than the average Liberal in congress. The average voter may say or vote like they are a moderate conservative but when you go down the list of issues individually people are for the most part left of center. That's what Maher gets and Joe doesn't. Once again, there is a clear intellectual disparity between the two of them.

11. I've been surprised at how he's taken on his party lately. This seems like he's just |

rolling out the Repub talking points like a faithful hack.
Do the Republicans pay per word?

Dems should post an ad with one of those ugly pictures of Cheney snarling next to Pelosi's doe-eyed, smiling face and ask the question: Who do you really fear?...

If you are an intelligent woman that speaks your mind you must be some whacko liberal feminist. They did it to Hillary starting in the early nineties and it worked. Unfortunately, that is why we can't nominate her. She charges up their base like nobody else.

16. I noticed he is getting better. He needs to just change his party |
|
affiliation now and distance himself as much as possible to be seen as intelligent. You can't seem intelligent trying to justify the Republican talking points now because the points are inherently stupid.

Bill not only took over, he pulled Scarborough's tongue out of his head and beat him with it.
