Dear XXXXX,

Last week DFA Chair Jim Dean asked for your help in funding our largest Get Out The Vote drive ever. The response was loud and clear: over $100,000 was raised and more than half a million Get Out The Vote reminder notes were ordered.

George Bush and the Republicans are furiously trying to change our national focus this week from Iraq to the war on terrorism. But thanks to you, Democrats are on the offensive now. Help DFA-endorsed candidates get to November 7 in first place. This is the last chance to contribute $20 or more and receive your GOTV supplies:

Jim wrote about several hot races last week. Here's a quick update on what's happening on the ground. These candidates are challenging Republican incumbents for their seats in Congress, and all of them have a great chance of winning.

CA-11: DFA Grassroots All-Star Jerry McNerney recently won endorsements from the Sacramento Bee, the Modesto Bee, the San Jose Mercury News and the San Francisco Chronicle. But George Bush was in the district earlier this month raising $400,000 for anti-environment Republican Richard Pombo. This one is going to be a fight to the finish.

NY-20: With polls showing our candidate, Kirsten Gillibrand, on the cusp of a major upset in this upstate district, President Bill Clinton will be on the campaign trail with her this Thursday.

PA-6: Over the last two years, the polls for this race have been locked within the margin of error. Lois Murphy is our candidate. She's raised $3 million in one of the most expensive television markets in the country, but it's her Get Out The Vote operation that will win this one on November 7.

OH-15: Deborah Pryce, the chair of the House Republican Conference, has been so damaged by her connections to Jack Abramoff and Mark Foley that she has resorted to standing outside DFA-List candidate Mary Jo Kilroy's headquarters with a bullhorn to get the attention of Ohio voters. It's a sign of how low the Republicans in Ohio have sunk. Mary Jo will restore integrity to this seat.

WA-8: No Democrat has ever won this seat. But Darcy Burner has emerged from nowhere to turn this campaign into a dead heat. Jim Dean will be in Washington state this Wednesday to help Democrats and DFA members get Darcy over the finish line first!

Only one of these races was on the Washington, D.C. radar screen last year. But DFA members in each of these districts have made a huge difference. It is races like these that are the difference between two more years of Republican rule and a new direction for America. Please give now to energize our national Get Out The Vote drive:

Thank you!
