Five worst Members of Congress - YOU DECIDE (senate/house only)
Let's put a list together of the five worst senators or representatives in Washington DC. If we get enough replies we'll put together the list of the worst people in DC as decided by the Democratic Underground.

My list of 5:

#1 Rick Santorum
#2 Curt Weldon
#3 Dennis Hasert
#4 Ted Stevens
#5 James Inhofe

Who is your list of five worst members of senate and/or house

3. Here's mine
#1 - Ted Stevens - for taking self-righteous pride in his corruption, & throwing hissy fits on the Senate floor.

#2 - Dennis Hastert - for being a selfish bastard, totally corrupt, letting Abramoff Delay & Foley run wild, taking bribes from shady Turkish lobbyists, always blaming the Democrats, and selling out the House to the highest bidder.

#3 - Rick Santorum - for being a creepy fundie.

#4 - James Inhofe - Refuses to believe in global warming, so Republicans appoint him the head of the Environmental Committee. That makes sense.

#5 - Richard Pombo - for his self-appointed mission to destroy every wildlife protection law on the books. Go to hell.

#5 (tied) - James Sensenbrenner - because no list of the worst is complete w/o him. From leading the Clinton impeachment, to introducing (and stopping debate on) the Patriot Act, to demonizing immigrants, to racking up thousands of dollars in lobbyist-paid vacations, he's got it all. Complete slime - and a perfect mascot for this slimy, obnoxious, corrupt Congress.

Well, that was sort of satisfying.

4. I don't know about all of them...
but Trent Lott and George Allen both seem pretty high up on a list of baddies.

7. My list rotates as they keep trying to be nastier than the day before
But Marilyn Musgrave is always creeping into the top five. John Cornyn, Jeff Sessions, Ileana Ros Latham, and Mean Jean lay out the rest of my list.

9. Ileana Ros Latham - she's that skank who has been on Bill Maher
Her key to successful debating:

I'M GONNA INTERUPT YOU EVERY FIVE MINUTES AND IF YOU IGNORE ME I'LL JUST SCREAM LOUDER AND LOUDER UNTIL BASICALLY THE REST OF YOU SHUT UP WHILE I SPEW NONSENSE SHIT

8. The fact that Sam Brownshirt, Jon Kyl, and Mean Jean Schmidt haven't
made anyone else's list shows just how stiff the competition is.

I'll round out my top 5 with Dennis "Let's bulldoze New Orleans" Hastert and Ted "NO!!!!" Stevens.

10. I could make it the top #10
and we'd still all manage to find some unique names!

Irony is the fact that Mark Foley has NOT made our list

13. Mine:
Thelma Drake - my R-rep, and just shameless in her support of Bush-Cheney without regard to her district.

George Allen - 'nuff said when he stated "the Senate is boring..." before the rest of the crap happened to him.

Lieberman - for laughing at the primary system and embarrassing progressive dems.

I'm sure there are others, but these are my top 3 fer now....
