Bush Expresses Concern on Iraq Situation

By CHRISTINE HAUSER
Published: October 25, 2006
President Bush said today that he was “not satisfied” with the situation in Iraq and that the United States was shifting its tactics and working on a timetable with the Iraqi government that includes political measures to stem some of the violence. But he also emphasized that the plan was different from an “artificial” timetable under which American troops would be withdrawn.

It's the headline that bothers me. Why is it news that the *president* expresses concern over a war he started? Of course we know this man is truly incapable of concern over anything. But my point is, shouldn't it be taken for granted that there is concern about the war(even if there isn't), why do we have to be told in headlines that the so called "Commander in Cheif" is concerned about the war? Am I wrong about this or do I have too much concern about the war and how it is reported?

1. It's not his place to "express concern."
He's supposed to be in charge! You express concern when you are an outsider looking in, not when you are the one responsible.

2. Well...
when you lie to Congress to go to war and the war goes very, very badly, you may be concerned but that's only because you'll probably wind up in jail.
