Imus rips Rush for attacks on Michael J. Fox
http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Imus_rips_Rush_for_attacks_on_1025.html

MSNBC's Imus in the Morning show featured a report by NBC's Andrea Mitchell on "dirty politics" being employed by the Republican Party.

An advertisement that the NAACP considers racist being aired to support the Republican candidate in the Tennessee Senate race and attacks by right leaning pundits on a political commercial supporting stem cell research featuring actor Michael J. Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, are cited as a few examples.

Imus comments on Rush Limbaugh's character for his claims that Michael J. Fox was only "acting" in the commercial by "moving all around and shaking."

"Rush Limbaugh, a fat, draft-dodging, drug addict -- jacking his maid up, having her buy dope for him -- That fat son of bitch, I mean, enough bad stuff can't happen to him," Imus said.

"Rush Limbaugh, a fat, draft-dodging, drug addict -- jacking his maid up, having her buy dope for him -- That fat son of bitch, I mean, enough bad stuff can't happen to him," Imus said.

5. I'm sort of betting this will rattle Limpballs...
who is clearly very insecure, despite his bluster... I'm guessing Imus' comments will cause a bit of scrambling?

4. OK, Don - Open your eyes ALL the way now - the whole GOP is like Rush.
Do you really need to figure it out one Republican at a time?

25. CNN is not a whole lot better

Isn't that the home of Wolfie and Candi and Company?

The thing I don't like about CNN is that they say "Most Trusted Name In News" and that is sad if it is true.

They were behind GW and his LIES from the very beginning.

They just hide it a little bit better.

10. That's too bad,
because there are millions of Republicans who are convinced that ALL Democrats are the way that they define them and are equally convinced that they are totally right and they would be wrong. There are Republicans who your mothers and fathers, your sisters and brothers, and we may disagree with them, but I am sorry, they are not ALL like Rush. Evidently neither party has sole possession of hyperbole.

18. 95% of GOP powerstructure in DC ARE like Rush. And at least HALF
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 05:37 PM by blm
the Republican voters are like him, too.

Obviously anything said is a generalization , but this one isn't far off the mark.

20. Power structure, not just "ALL Republicans",
that is different. Although, the rank and file can differ with their party's power structure, just as many Dems disagree with Pelosi over her impeachment is off the table stance.

21. GOP usually refers to party OFFICIALS and activists.
Not the average voter.

22. I understand what you meant now,
but GOP, meaning "Grand Old Party", is simply a nickname for the Republican Party and I think your average person will use the two terms interchangeably. I have seen them frequently used that way here at DU.

7. just heard limballs' response on Hardball...
he is back-peddling like crazy!

He is saying he was misquoted. He only said it looked like he was off his meds or acting....not that he WAS acting. (??????) He went on saying he's know many Parkinsons patients and that NONE of them move like Fox (read: some of my best friends have Parkinsons)

He is shuffling like crazy..... Don't let him off the hook.

17. Rush became an easy target this time
Any conservative or right-leaning personality who wants to look independent has a golden opportunity right now.

I see Hannity flunked the test.

19. Way To Fire, Imus

If there were any sort of justice, Limbaugh would come down with Parkinson's tomorrow morning. The fact that he can get away with saying things like that and collect $20 million plus every year for it, is yet another reason why I've pretty much given up on this country.....
