Virginia is actually better than it looks(reasoning inside)
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15389773/

The Mason-Dixon poll shows Allen up by 4%, but there is something to take into account here. They say that 84% of Virginia voters are white. This simply is not the case. In 2004 they were only 72%. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/states/VA/P/00/epolls.0.html

Blacks were 21%, Latinos 3%, Asians 2%. If we adjust the numbers accordingly, assuming 90% of the African-American vote goes to Webb,...

I get 47.64% for Webb and 43.4% for Allen. That was also assuming other races favored Webb by a 60-40% margin which is about the historic trend for Asians and Hispanics.

1. But can we count on their vote?
I am concerned because the Richmond Voice endorsed Allen along with the National Black Farmers and Senator Lambert. All are well respected in the African American Community...

2. Virginia is going to be tough by all accounts
Virginia has a lot of govt (war) contractors and a lot of people that are getting ready to retire out of the military and into a govt (war) contractor job.
