Michael J. Fox was right. How Missouri votes affects all of us.
Not just on stem cell research either. On every issue. On the issue of women's rights, because it IS about rights...not just "choice."..it matters how Missouri votes.

When a Democratic congress person in LA presents a bill banning all abortion rights...for any reason, that affects me. It affects all of us.

How Kansas votes affects all women in this country. If a Democrat in Kansas is opposed to women's rights, opposed to gay rights, opposed to stem cell research...it affects all of this country.

That NJ ruling on the rights of the gay community should have been celebrated here, but it instead was thought of in terms of political elections coming up. I saw those posts today, and they were upsetting.

A lot of us have been silent about the abortion and contraceptive rights issues for a while to sort of keep the peace. Many here still think we are pretty demanding to expect such "rights." And they are "rights"...pure and simple. We have not had many discussions because the elections are near.

But I notice that no one here disagreed with Michael J. Fox, that how a Democratic candidate votes in Missouri is so important to the country.

So may I say that there are many Democrats running who do not support women's "rights". They support "some" rights for women, but not others. They reserve the right to make some decisions because of religious values and moral concerns. And we are supposed to be silent.

I am sure the gay community must have been hurt a lot this year by all of our Democrats who are afraid of the issue. I defended some, but I won't do it again. I am sure they were hurt when a candidate on Larry King tonight expressed his views against their rights. But they are supposed to be quiet also until after the election, I guess.

Every anti-choice, anti women's rights, anti gay rights, candidate's votes affect all of us in the country, but we will have to wait until later to say much about it.

But Michael J. Fox was right. It just needs to be said about other issues as well.

1. Agree. BTW, has anyone heard from DanCa on this ugly episode?
He has PD and went to DC to lobby for stem cell research.

2. I was just looking in the archives.
I just checked for the GD archives...don't see anything here after August. I did not realize that. I wish him the best.

4. I just caught the first part.
I got tired of seeing Bush's press conference and went and read a while. I will see the part after the first 15 minutes at 12 tonight.

5. Finally saw it last night.
Limbaugh looked crazy and weird. I think he hurt his own image by mocking someone who is ill.
