Role of government and corporate welfare |

Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 07:56 AM by SHRED
I hear from RW nuts that you can't tax corporations because they will pass that tax on to the consumer.
My response is: You can with proper governmental oversight to protect the consumers. Actually having the government work for the protection of the people. What a concept!
Something that the RW has given up in favor of a country for, by, and of the corporates. They make these kinds of excuses for them. They are sick.

1. Have they forgotten about "market forces"? |
|
The corporation that is better managed, provides value and doesn't reap horrendous profits will beat the tax-passing corporation in the marketplace. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Why do they always bring up the "wisdom of the markets" when justifying corporate villainy yet forget that markets exist when trying to protect corporations from doing their duty. Large corporations inordinately benefit from government spending, especially on infrastructure, yet the RWers don't want them to pay for those benefits.
