If Foley was the nail in the coffin, Rush is the ton...
of dirt piled onto the coffin.

I really believe that the video of Rush flailing around is so damming and that the Republican party (by its choice) has so aligned itself with the freak show that Rush really sealed the fate of the GOP. I think that some of the more moderate GOP voters had some doubts about the cabal that is running the country, but Rush, with one insensitive and monumental attack of one of the most sympathetic public figures in America, cast all doubt aside.

Hey GOP: You sleep in the bed that you made.

2. Nobody puts Micheal P Keaton in a corner
or something like that.

What Rush did was over the line and many right wingers I know agree.

3. Point swings from Foley and Michael J. Fox.
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 01:57 PM by longship
Reuters/Zogby claims that 22% of responders could change their vote because of Foley. Another study indicates another 10% possible swing in response to the Fox advert. If these materialize on election day, we're talking about an absolutely huge swing of voters just on these two issues. Some close races are no longer going to be close. Other "safe" seats may not be safe. The GOP is positively bleeding to death this year.

4. And there is no tourniquet
I, for one, will not shed a tear for these bastards, who seem to have forgotten that they are serving the public interest and not the corporate interest.
