Landrieu campaigns for Lieberman.
http://www.boston.com/news/local/connecticut/articles/2006/10/26/lamont_gets_lift_from_obama_lieberman_campaigns_with_landrieu/

"Lieberman, meanwhile, won praise from another prominent Democrat, Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu. She praised his efforts Thursday to help the Gulf Coast hurricane recovery effort.

"One of the first calls I made after the levees broke was to Joe Lieberman," Landrieu said in a statement. "In a time of national crisis, Joe had the calm, intelligence and compassion to help get me -- and our country -- through those difficult months."

Lieberman is the ranking Democrat on the Senate's Homeland Security panel, which probed the government's response to Hurricane Katrina and made recommendations on how officials could do a better job. Landrieu and Lieberman met voters and ate lunch on plastic plates at Hartford's Rajun Cajun restaurant. Landrieu enjoyed the jambalaya. Lieberman had macaroni and cheese.

"We got good food today," Landrieu said. "We're going to have a better homeland security system tomorrow because of Joe Lieberman."

But the good news is that the first part of the article is Obama rallying with Lamont. Good for him.

Wasn't Kerry there with Lamont yesterday or today? John Kerry for Lamont...Bob Kerrey for Lieberman.

Good for them.

If Lamont pulls this out it will be over the big name Clinton admin advisors and strategists....I hope he does.

Here are the Dems for Joe.

6. I never knew about her until Katrina. She consistently votes with
republicans, she sucked up to shrub - I can't believe this woman calls herself a democrat. What does she stand for that is different than republicans?

12. That's all part of the plan...

LA will get so much redder when one removes the bla.. er blue voters from New Orleans.

"We'll just replace those lazy ni... er, uh, we'll have a new force of hardworking immigrants (also non-voting illegals) to replace the houses for the new families of, er, good southern folks (white, republican) that need to move in and make this the tourist paradise like, er, Disneyland!!!"

3. Lieberman had macaroni and cheese at a Cajun restaurant?
If that doesn't sum up Mr. Personality, nothing does. :eyes:

Although, come to think of it, I can't imagine it'd be that easy to find anything kosher on a Cajun menu; if the shellfish doesn't get you, the pork sausage or ham hocks will. Perhaps they could've compromised on Popeye's :-)

11. Although strickly speaking
unless the macaroni and cheese was a heated Kosher TV dinner, it too would not meet Orthodox Kasrut (kosher) rules. The pan, bowl, plate probably had been used with meat or even pork or shellfish. Also, ordinary cheese contains rennet, an animal product that makes it not kosher.

5. katrina not withstanding -- she would campaign
for lieberman.

she is one of the corps dems who will cross over to the republick party and vote with them on this or that issue.

mind you that makes her just one of a few -- but she does it.

8. Jim Woolsey is about as Democratic as Richard Perle's ass.
Republican suckup that did all he could to get us into Iraq. I hate that greasy little Neocon toad. No surprise he's for Lieberman, big surprise that he calls himself a "Democrat". Our tent isn't big enough for the likes of Jim Woolsey.

REMEMBER THIS the next time we're told to "hold our noses and
vote for" the DLC piece of shit.

We've done it, over and over again, but when the shoe was on
the other foot, they refused to return the favor.

So, any updates on lieberman's possibly-illegal slush fund, the one his campaign refuses to turn over the books for?

15. Just speculation about why it is not being mentioned in the media.
I just saw a couple of blogs mentioning it. Not much publicity.

With the power Dems on Lieberman's side, things get hushed up pretty quickly, while stuff about Lamont's great ground game gets little publicity.

I cannot TELL the number of times I have emailed Landrieu...
I give up
once she got behind the torture bill, that was IT for me
I will never vote for her again, no matter what

she is a disgrace to the party
I don't care WHAT her Louisiana agenda is
she has kissed butt too many times
and has absolutely NOTHING to show for it

she is a fool

17. I'm as anti Lieberman as anyone but I'll still vote for Landrieu
If you're bashing her, you probably know very little about the woman she ran against in 2002 Suzanne Haik Terrell. Terrell proclaimed in the debate that "Mary Landrieu has lost her catholicism" and ran ads showing Landrieu personally handing out condoms to school children.

Sorry but I'll take a Joe Lieberman endorsement over having Suzee Terrell as my Senator.

19. Please point out where I bashed her. I hate it when people bash.
So please point out where I said anything against her.

People here think mentioning something that affects our party's future is akin to bashing.

I apologize because I intended for "You're" to refer to everyone on this thread, not specifically you. Your OP was actually very informative and I'm glad that you pointed it out.

18. Some Democrats refer to her as "Typhoid Mary". Hopefully we
can find a good Democrat to defeat her in the next primary.

21. The best electable democrat in this state is her brother...
And he just lost the election for NO Mayor. The Democrats in Louisiana are pretty worthless. You won't find anyone amongst our ranks who will do a better job than Landrieu.

Congressman Charlie Melancon, IMO, would make a good Senator but he wouldn't be anymore popular on DU than Landrieu. Thus I would suggest that it's better he challenge our GOP Senator David Vitter than try to unseat Landrieu in the primary.

other GOPer. The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave her a B+ to David Vitter's F.
