The real swiftboating has begun anew.
I don't believe the original swiftboat ads were that effective or strong. Their real devastation was derived from the repeated showing on conventional "news" programs. This is happening now with ads like the Ford/Playboy ad. Even after the ad has been pulled from a limited showing the media replays it continuously and for free. They decry negative ads and their detrimental effect on voters, all the while exposing viewers to non-stop repetition. This is the real design of these ads. Most that are shown are developed by the RNC. The GOP candidate ads complain of distortion and smears. Why aren't we shown those Dem ads over and over? Either they don't exist or the real media strategy is to do Rove's work, both to an extreme and for free.

3. we need to hold the media accountable when they echo this BS.
even if it is "newsworthy" when an ad crosses the line (i think the Ford ad replay is actually helping Ford now, but i still don't want to hear it), when a progressive ad crosses a line, they echo the uproar, but not the original message.

every time there's a "concern troll" article about the Democrats, call them on it.
every time there's an article with 10 quotes from Republicans and one paraphrase of a Democratic position, call them on it.
etc.

they'll still be corporate-friendly, so we may never keep them totally honest, but we can certainly influence them.

4. I don't ususally watch...
but I caught a few minutes of both CNN and MSNBC,.. what a mistake. It's one thing to scan threads of the crap, but to see and hear the smarmy, shit-eating grin, fuck faces, spew their bullshit is de-humanizing some how. It brings up a putrid hatred, fueling ideas of a Ramboesque quality...fuck them.
