GOP Drops TV Plans for Ohio Senator
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 08:28 PM by cal04
Republican National Committee said Thursday it won't run any television ads in Ohio on behalf of Sen. Mike DeWine during the final week of the campaign.

RNC spokesman Aaron McLear said the national party organization had reserved time to run statewide TV ads next week as DeWine tries to come back against Democratic Rep. Sherrod Brown, who leads in recent polls. But in the end, the RNC decided not to make the purchase, McLear said.

National Democrats said it showed the Republicans were giving up on the two-term senator.

"Even the RNC is basically saying now that Mike DeWine has a slim chance of winning this campaign," said Phil Singer, spokesman for the Democrats' national Senate campaign organization.

1. Well. This can't be terribly good news for the DeWine campaign.
But it's darn good news for Sherrod Brown's.

I like it when the Republicans cut and run.

2. They're just switching gears to Diebold. It may be a bumpy ride.

4. Blackwell isn't buying ads either!
I am definitely not confident about a Strickland or Brown victory in Ohio. The Diebold machines are already programmed to allow the repukes to win by 2% or so. Just enough to lull the sheeple. Then the so-called zombie press will trumpet..."oh...it's the value voters that responded to Karl Rove's 72 hour push!"

5. A 20 point lead is hard to erase
Even with a rigged election.
