Just for economic reasons alone we should be perusing Stem Cell
Research...

The Europeans and Chinese are proceeding and are bound to make some great leaps ahead of the US pharmaceutical industry...

Come to think about it, that might not be such a bad idea...

Maybe get their minds off penis friendly drugs and the newest chemical compound to disguise heartburn and onto more important things such as cures for Cancer....

1. Wait......
If we don't do the research, then we lose our competitive edge...

The business will go elsewhere.

I do agree that it's important to get the Chinese away from using endangered animal parts for impotence issues.....

But I want stem cell research done right here. In our country.

If we lose this field, then we are on our way to becoming a third-rate country in terms of scientific research.

And that has economic as well as educational consequences too........

3. I'm surprised that the Big Pharma corps in the US...
... don't push their tools in Congress to pass the legislation. You know they want a piece of that money.

4. Map: Stem cell friendly countries
I agree with having competitive research in the US. If we don't do it, someone else will.

Countries colored in brown represent about 3.5 billion people, more than half the world's population. All have a permissive or flexible policy on human embryonic stem cell research and all have banned human reproductive cloning. Population: M = million.
