It's on the Drudge report right now. something about a novel he wrote years ago and the Allen campaign is passing out literature on this saying he's unfit to serve in the senate.

15. The back of the book... |
|
"Lost Soldiers" has this review:
James Webb’s new novel paints a portrait of a modern Vietnam charged with hopes for the future but haunted by the ghosts of its war-torn past. It captures well the lingering scars of the war, and exposes the tension between the dynamism of a new generation and the invisible bondage of an older generation for whom wartime allegiances, and animosities, are rendered no less vivid by the passage of time. A novel of revenge and redemption that tells us much about both where Vietnam is headed and where it has been. JOHN McCAIN

20. Fiction based on what he saw in 'Nam. |
|
Of course Allen's group thinks it's wierd, they are all chickenhawks who don't realize there are odd customs in other cultures. They think everyone has the same idea of what is acceptable as they do. Of course that doesn't mean they always act in ways that are acceptable, they just know what the rules of their culture are or make them up as they go along.
