Sad innocence on DU
In the week or so that I have been posting here, I was called a freeper and a Rovian propagandist several times for pointing out that Republicans will not suddenly become honest and allow fair elections.

DU generally underestimates Karl Rove, who got away with stealing 3 elections (among other things, like outing a CIA agent) and is probably getting away with stealing the 4th.

I am still voting and they'll have to steal my vote once again, but it's my firm opinion that both houses will remain Republican.

It'll take a revolution of historical proportions to remove these criminals from office, a revolution involving the entire US population. Some of you might have seen V for Vendetta.

This time, the main stream media will cite fear of Democrats raising taxes and last minute 'patriotism' for yet another Republican 'victory.' Rove:

"You may end up with a different math, but you're entitled to your math," Rove said. "I'm entitled to 'the' math."

Rove 'dukes it out' with NPR host over polling data

1. Welcome to DU. I think you have some valid points to be
seriously considered. I voted absentee, but who knows if it will be thrown out.

2. you're not alone
Air America's Thom Hartmann is also not convinced that the Dems will win either house. As for Rove... I saw his NPR interview as just a way to discourage Dems and not let the GOP base fall into dispair.

3. KO reported on that comment last night...
I posted it here the day he said it. We are ready this time. That's my take...

WE know who and what we are dealing with and at what lengths they will go to win...

So do many of the American people...they've "outed" themselves on numerous occasions just in the past week. The rose-colored glasses are off...

4. I think you're giving Fat Karl far too much credit
He's the propagandist. The election theft was farmed out to the family controlling the touch screen voting machines.

Karl is only one cog in an interstate racketeering machine. He's no more the whole deal than Wally O'Dell or Katherine Harris or Blackwell is. They're all parts of a whole, and the whole is ugly.

6. I suspect this kind of post is meant to keep folks from the polls.
I think there is a lot of it going on here.

It is a way to discourage people.

10. I don't know if you are right or not, I'm rather naive about such
alleged motives of posters, but I haven't missed an election in 34 years. It would take physical restraint or death to keep me from voting again.

7. I think there will be no honesty
displayed by any republicans in this generation. Their operatives and supporters could not possibly care less if they rig elections. One bit of optimism though is I have seen democrats not sitting on their butts and rubbing their hands when attacked. They are taking the fight to them and with current polling data, any great differentiation of the final outcome will result in intense scrutiny. I am confident of that.

Welcome to DU. I'll look forward to your posts. I've been called a few things on here myself..

8. Rove is trying to dupe people like you
Edited on Fri Oct-27-06 12:09 PM by Finnfan
People who think he's all powerful. People who think he can't be beat. People who think "The fix is in. Why bother voting?"

He's hoping that people like you will post drivel all over internet message boards in an attempt to dampen enthusiasm and turnout.

In addition, he's also trying to encourage his base to get out and vote. To tell them that despite all of the polling data, Republicans still have a chance.

I will not call you a "freeper and a Rovian propagandist", but I will say that your thread is exactly what Rove is hoping for when he makes these asinine statements.

9. You are missing the point.
Edited on Fri Oct-27-06 12:08 PM by Warren Stupidity
Right now and until Nov 8 the most imporant thing we can do is get people up off their asses and out to the polls on November 7. Yes the election may be stolen, but if is stolen as usual, as it is every election, by convincing vast numbers of the Democratic base that they have no reason to vote, then we will have nothing to complain about.

So lay off the fear uncertainty and doubt for about two weeks. Right now our message should be positive strong and confident. If they steal the election, force them to do so through massive fraud at the polls and not through apathy.

11. "Massive fraud!" There real good at that.
But you are right, lets overwhelm the polling precincts with a huge turnout. Have the end results differ greatly from current polling data and the fan will get awful damn messy.
