refused on it..Tom Reynolds campaign here in NYS is ridiculous..everyday, I mean everyday I get big shiny negative propa against his opponent Jack Davis..and it goes BACK to Commerce Drive in Amherst..Today I got two!!!! makes me sick the money spent..anyway Pickles is coming to Rochester tomorrow to campaign for Tommy ( I told Hastert) Reynolds and Randy Kuhl.If you hurry you can register to see her..but registration will be limited to 1 hour..I wonder what they plan on doing with the other 59 minutes after Reynolds and Kuhl register..I love driving out of our town (it is staunch repub.) Just 5 minutes north ...Love those Jack Davis-Eric Mazza signs..breath of fresh air...days now ..just days

1. DON'T SEND IT BACK THAT WAY!!! NEVER refuse an RNC direct mail piece!
Edited on Fri Oct-27-06 02:27 PM by stopbush
It doesn't cost them anything to send it back that way. The round trip is included in the postage. In fact, if the outer
envelope doesn't say "Address Correction Requested," the USPS will probably toss it and it won't even get to the RNC.

If you want to hurt them financially, you MUST return the postage-paid Business Reply Enevelope! The best direct mail
gets a 3% response rate, and the RNC will budget for that. But they have to pay for every envelope that gets returned to them.
I usually REMOVE MY NAME from all parts of the DM package, then, I cut up the crap they sent, stuff it in the BRE and
drop it in the post box.

If even 30% of the mailings they sent out this way came back with postage due it would cripple their efforts. They're expecting
to pay postage on 3 out of every 100 pieces they mailed. Do the math. If they got back 30 out of 100 with no money in them,
they'd owe extra postage without a cash contribution as an offset.

Now, if you're talking about a postcard or an oversized board, that will definitely just end up in the trash at the USPS if you mark
it refused.

Be wise.

4. Stuff "Joe Conservative" in the envelope.
I stuff three or four pages of liberal stuff in those credit card envelopes & mail them back. Joe Conservative is always a favorite & I have a few flyers about electronic voting that I also enclose.

5. I do it every day.
It's very empowering. I also fold in other stuff as well to make the BRE heavier, thus costing more postage.

7. Once upon a time, your could glue the BRE to a brick and send it back.
But the USPS won't deliever those anymore.

BTW - that's why postal workers all have beautiful brickface on their fireplaces... :)
