2. Soldiers of Fortune
There's gotta be some international statutes against these murderers
(and the republican creeps who hire them to do their dirty work)

4. The US doesn't recognize international law applied to US military operations, obviously
The US forced the Iraqi "government" to pass a law exempting US military from prosecution under Iraqi law. Contract personnel under the US military are subject to criminal jurisdiction in US Federal Courts yet not a single mercenary has ever been brought before a US Federal Court or received any legal sanction.

3. I think you can file that under the "No Shit, Sherlock" category....

They don't answer to anyone, there's no CAC, no culpability...it's a 'lose/lose' scenario for the recipients all around...

I'm actually amazed that the 'no-brainer' treatment hasn't been outsourced for that very reason...You know, the old "We don't torture people, our government-subsidized independent-contracters do" line....

5. Ding! This is how they create total non-accountability.
They can do anything they want if they can create situations like this wherever they have interest. They obviously consider themselves kings and queens, and they're side-stepping checks and balances in order to live like it. This is what we're up against, and it's only going to get worse as they continue to expand these operations within the US and without.

Imagine what they could propose and establish in the event of another terrorist attack. The Patriot Act was likely sitting around waiting for implementation, considering how quickly such a lengthy item came into being after 9/11. Notice that they can't apply such focus to find Bin Laden, as he's useful for situations in which they can Patriot Act us out of our freedoms and resources.

And how they dashed into Iraq, bombing it back to the stone age, while simultaneously running away from North Korea, where there were actual announcements of nuclear intentions as well as fulfillment of those promises. Looks like Iraq has oil, and North Korea only has Kim Chee. I for one like Kim Chee, but no one really seems to care about their amazing inaction towards North Korea. And Bin Laden.

We're so used to brazen liars in positions of power that we have arrived in a place where we don't know what to do when the lies begin effecting everyone. It's our country again when we say so. Majority unity is the key, and they can't wage war if we unite against the concept and demand change. They obviously need to sell us with kaleidoscoping reasons to be in Iraq (real reason: billions of dollars a week into their pockets), so we can obviosly make a difference if we say NO. Just like we did to the theft of Social Security. (Which they might find a way to grab regardless.)

Pause to inhale.
