Who else here has run for office....
I am 1 for 4... Winning a primary, lost 2 and lost a general election...

All were long shots, but I still campaigned and worked my ass off...

I'm not going to run again...

2. I should have run locally....
But I ran for Congress in 92, then State House and State Senate....

I probably would have won if I had started as a Councilman...

5. I won the primary but...
lost the General and have not had the urge to run again - especially not as a Democrat in Colorado Springs. However, Jay Fawcett is doing quite well this year. For the first time ever, I think, the RNC is sending money into the district to help the Republican.

6. That would be me, too. Lost twice but will probably run again.
First time was a real long shot.

Second time (different office) I had a chance, and did very well in one of the GOP areas.

Next time, I'll take it.

Major props to you, Chris.......

Those folks who didn't vote for you did not have a clue how much damage they were doing to themselves in not electing you......

You would have been so damned good! :patriot:

On edit: Let me add that it is such a waste that an intelligent and motivated guy like yourself cannot get elected.......

It makes me sad........

10. The Plain Dealer, the Leading paper in Cleveland, called and
left a message that I needed to call them back...

I was certain they hd discovered that I had smoked pot as a youngster...

well, to my surprise, they endorsed me....

I still came in fifth out of seven running...

..I was on the phone when my wife walked in and asked who I was talking with and I said Bill Clinton. That was in '98 and Monica was the topic du jour. :)

15. It looks like you helped change the tide.
Because of your past efforts, maybe it will be easier to run in the future.

16. Ran 4 times, won 3
All local (town) races.

One was a special election called when a councilor resigned. First vote total had me winning by one vote. A re-count was called for and when the dust settled, I won by two votes.

18. 3 for 4 here.
Losing sucks. You have my condolences.

But don't speak too soon, once the bug bites you're always considering trying again.
