One more mind changed...
I received an email from a cousin of mine recently. We were never close, but we would go out and drink a few beers, shoot the shit, and generally have a good time. We joked about being from the south, and how we should be careful not to drink 'too much' so we didn't end up in some motel room next to the highway. (Never happened.)
Anyhow, I can recall when she said she would be voting for G.W. and how he would be "good for the economy" and how everyone was over-blowing the AWOL thing, etc... Check out what I got last week.

"I'm done with this crap!  I'm also going to vote for Kinky Friedman for governor of Texas!!!  We've put up campaign signs in our yard and everything!  I've had quite a change of heart and I will admit that you were right.(emphasis added.)  The Republicans currently in office are stinking, lying, cheating bastards.  I'm done with it.  I've actually felt this way since about the beginning of the year when it finally became apparent to me that we were completely misled about Iraq.  It sickens me.  I've admitted to all of my liberal friends that voting for George Bush was probably the worst mistake I've ever made in my life. "

Now... I'm not one to gloat, and I did not reply with glee in my voice about "I TOLD YOU SO!" because that is exactly what turns them BACK. (At least that's what I think...) But I did say I was sorry to hear about the change of heart coming so late, and that I was glad that she did 'come around' eventually. I'm just glad that it finally happened. But I thought I would share this with DU in the hopes of more people changing their minds in the next week.

I come from a family of mostly Rep's, and I am guessing since I was raised by my mother (A Swede) that I have a more open and understanding view of the world and its workings. I just hope more people come around from their narrow view to see more of what is wrong and how better to fix those things.

2. Voting for Kinky?
Sounds like there is still room for growth there.

4. A vote for Kinky is essentially a vote for Rick Perry,
but it's a start.
