A BIG Thank You To All DU Pavement Pounders....
Thanks to all of you who are volunteering, phone banking, canvassing. It's a difficult job, but let's not say it's "thankless", because I for one appreciate you, and salute you.

We're in the home stretch now, keep up the great work!!!!

2. It's fun, actually
I look forward to it. I can fold, stuff and seal with the best of them!

3. I have to admit, answering phones at HQ is a heck of alot easier than walking
the streets in NC - so definitely a hats off to those who do.

4. It is difficult.
I really don't like walking through unfamiliar neighborhoods and knocking on strangers doors. I think it's because I've never liked it when people knocked on my door, plus I have an inherent shyness which adds to the difficulty. But I feel like I have to do this. No one is ever rude but I have been met more than once with a perfunctory politeness. But there's always those one or two homes where they sincerely thank you for what you're doing and even invite you in to talk for a few minutes. Those make it worthwhile, but they're probably the ones that didn't really require my visit anyway. I did it this weekend and I'll most likely be doing it again next weekend. Anyone reading this who isn't doing it, find an organization and volunteer. It's still not too late for you personally to make a difference!
