Republican Congressman Blames Bush's Record Deficits On Clinton
Click here to read the latest nonsense from upstate New York.

<snip>

Sweeney said: "The deficit is actually a result of a recession that began in his administration."

Oh yeah, I forgot. Everything that has gone wrong in the six-plus years of the Bush Administration is ultimately Clinton's fault.

Sadly, the reporter covering Sweeney didn't bother to fact-check the quote. Way to be "fair and objective."

1. Yeah, and I sneezed during the Clinton administration, so every cold I get
is the Clenis' fault too!

2. Ignoring, of course...
That there WAS no deficit when Clinton left office and that there was, in fact, a record surplus that Shrub turned into a record deficit in record time.

3. Yawn
Like some say, "Same shit, different day." It's always Clinton's fault. The Detroit Tigers lousy fielding pitchers in the World Series was Clinton's fault. Paris Hilton being foisted on the American public is Clinton's fault. Everything negative in the history of the whole damn world is Clinton's fault.

6. mark foley
started doing naughty things during the Clinton era, so by default that's his fault, too.

4. and this surprises no one
it's a great play-blame everything on Clinton-it's been working for the past decade for them.Another reason to NOT consider Hillary Clinton for '08-who wants to see all the same stuff dredged up again-not me.

5. Gosh golly and gee whiz...
Rather funny how these deficity seem to grow astronomically in Republican years yet shrunk during the Clinton administration.

Obviously, the Clenis was taking credit for Poppy and Raygun's long term planning... :sarcasm:

These people are f*cking idiots...

7. That's par for the course
with all political parties I afraid to say. Blair and his cronies are still blaming the Conservative party for all manner of things despite the fact Labour has been in power for 9 years.

However - neither The Boy Blunder nor his pet poodle will be able to expain away their expenditure on Iraq by blaming that on anyone else.

8. Recession actually started in March of 2001
Probably started by Enron's manipulations in Califoria - the world's fifth largest economy. The slowdown that had been occuring was caused by Greenspan and his decidsions to really jack up interest rates in anticipation of the 2000 election. IIRC the prime was at 8.75%.
I like Letterman's term the other night to O'liar "you have artificial facts"
