The number of dead Americans this month is up to 101 and they are concerned with what a journalist wrote about many years ago. My hate is more rational then ever.

As an aside, I have known Jim Webb for almost 20 years. He's the real deal. The only reason he wears the Navy Cross instead of the CMH is that he survived his wounds. Otherwise, his widow would have received a neatly folded flag, and Jim would have posthumously been awarded a little blue ribbon with 5 stars on it.

I was in the canoe club when he was SECNAV and he was a bonafide pain in the ass, but he never lied and there was no doubt who was in charge. He loved his Sailors and fought up the chain for us. There was no doubt who was in charge from him on down. He was the boss, we knew it and we rogered up to his leadership.
