Hey...it's only murder... the wit and wisdom of Charlie Crist..
Tonight there were two great sound bites from the Crist - Davis - Linn debate here in Florida:

Crist tripped and stumbled badly and repeatedly fell on his own sword out of his own stupidity...

First one was when Crist told us when asked about gay marriage that he "believed in the sanctity of marriage, like he had before his divorce".

Can I get a Jon Stewart whaaaaaaa????????

The second one was when Crist when asked about the crime rate here in Florida (by the way he is State Attorney General) made the statement that:

"the only violent crime that hasn't gone down is murder"...

Hey what's a few murders here and there.... it's "just" murder... this in a state where the murder rate has been skyrocketing in the last year...

MO-RON.....

All Davis needs to do to win is to run these two clips from the debate as his commercials from now to the election... I think the murder one should be prefaced with a dead pan announcer:

"And now a messsage from the Attorney General of Florida"...

Play the sound bite....

3. I dunno...
I have lived in and near a lot of cities in the downtown areas: Atlanta, Nashville, Huntsville, Detroit, Ft. Lauderdale/Miami, Phoenix, and now Orlando and the only place I was ever scared was Detroit at night. Orlando doesn't really seem all that bad to me. I think it is really only in particular housing projects and is mostly drug related.

2. Hetero
I haven't seen it yet (Tivoed), but I gather Crist wants to stress that he has been married at least for a while to squash the still bubbling rumors that he's gay....so he'd rather take the lumps for the dumbass line as long as it's clear he's straight.

4. Yeah but...
not only did it sound stupid but it also begged the question:

Exactly WHY did you get divorced?

A likely answer: He was gay - she was not...

It sounded totally contrived and stupid as an answer:

In other words I believe in the sanctity of marriage therefore I got divorced...

WHAAA????

5. Oh and Linn (the Reform Party candidate) got in and waled on Crist...
Linn beat the rhetorical crap out of Crist from the right while Davis did it from the left. I think Linn is going to take a substantial part of the Republican vote and split them and Crist made it easy to decide: anybody but Crist... after seeing the debate.
