3. Not only that...the DSCC poll was the most pessimistic!!!
Show's internal Democratic polls are more trustworthy than Republican polls. Course I guess that is probably true for just about everything!!!

14. Actually he is
I think at the beginning he came off as too wooden or impersonal but now he looks like a the stalwart steady incumbent to Allen twisted with the wind and chasing every press release they can come up with.

15. sometimes, the public just tunes out the incumbent.

it happened to poppy in 1992, and clinton won in a walk. I think I detect
the same thing happening to allen. no matter what he does, his polls don't
move. if anything had the potential to move numbers (at least his base) in
allen's favor, it was the release of excerpts of webb's fictional novels.

but it didn't happen. I don't even think disaffected fundies blinked.

and once the public turns off an incumbent, it's over for him. all webb has
to do is to avoid blowing himself to pieces, and I really think this one flips.
I think it's razor thin, but I think it flips.

but I have a subsequent prediction to make. I predict that within two years,
DU will be so dissatisfied with webb that it will make the depth of contempt
we feel for lieberman look like mild annoyance. across the entire spectrum of
issues, webb is about as far away from being a progressive as you will ever find.
infinitely preferable to allen, to be sure, but not a bona fide progressive in
his own right by any means. we are making a deal with the devil here.
