We need a Plan A AND a Plan B |
|
Plan A. Our turnout is large enough, and voter dissatisfaction high enough, to offset all the well-documented hankypanky that is going on, and we win at least the House. All the election integrity activism succeeds in deterring quite a bit of it.
1. We need to set priorities for reversing as much of the Bush damage as possible, as quickly as possible. 2. We don't just ignore election problems because we won. We move to fix them, fast. 3. We investigate the bejeezus out of every wrongdoing by the Bushies, starting on Day 1.
Plan B. The hankypanky works, and Repubs retain complete control.
1. No Dem candidate in any state where cheating has been documented should ever, ever concede. If we won't stick up for our own voters, we render our party utterly worthless. This for sure includes Ohio, Florida and Nevada, and very likely others. We need to focus our efforts on the worst problems. 2. No Dem who wins in spite of the cheating by the other side should declare victory until all votes are counted. Solidarity with victims of successful cheating is paramount. 3. Hit all elected Dems with demands to stop business as usual until the fraud is dealt with.

2. Yes. this is exactly what's needed but how will you get them to listen to us? |
|
The solution for all this vote counting fraud and outright crime is unity on the part of the Dems, but that has been true from the beginning. The problem is they won't listen. Who among the really powerful, visible Dems even admits that fraud in 04 and 02 and 05 is even on the table?
We can only hope now after Lou Dobbs and RFK Jr. that enough Dems at least can see that it's possible and they won't die or lose credibility if they admit the obvious. It's something they could campaign on if they weren't afraid that the vendors would pull the plug on them in the elections. The American people have certainly come around. They know what's up and more and more are coming around.

3. GET THE POLL TAPES- AUDIT YOUR OWN PRECINCT! |
|
sorry to yell, but no one seems to know what to do. i know this- if you are a poll worker or a poll watcher in most places, you are entitled to, or at least are eligible to, get a signed copy of the results tape of your precinct. if everyone here who is eligible to do this did it, and those results were later either not represented in the official canvass, or later challenged in court, we would have a pool of legal documents, admissible in court. also, if people are voting on dre's and having "glitches" they should write down the serial number and seal number on that machine. pity the poll worker that tries to stop them. and just for the intimidation factor- write down the poll workers name. a lot of the front line troops have nothing to do with the tampering, but they need to be reminded that it is their job to safeguard the votes. their signatures are on those tapes, they are accountable. that is why we have citizen poll workers, not patronage hacks. watch the watchers, and let them know you are watching. at the least, go back to your polling place after results are posted, and write them down. then check the results posted in the canvass for your own polling place.

4. Don't forget GOP Plan B |
|
THEY will be ones claiming machine fraud etc. if we don't. They have been campaigning with incredible projection lies. Expect their reaction to unfavorable results to be the same.

Ev'rywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy 'Cause summer's here and the time is right for fighting in the street boy But what can a poor boy do except to sing for a Rock'N'Roll Band 'cause in sleepy London Town There's just no place for Street Fighting Man! No! Hey! Think the time is right for a Palace Revolution But where I live the game to play is Compromise Solution! Well then what can a poor boy do except to sing for a Rock'N'Roll Band 'cause in sleepy London Town There's just no place for Street Fighting Man! No! Hey! Said my name is called Disturbance I'll shout and scream, I'll kill the King I'll rail at all his servants Well then what can a poor boy do except to sing for a Rock'N'Roll Band 'cause in sleepy London Town There's just no place for Street Fighting Man! No

6. Good Practical Program, Eridani |
|
We need to get away from either/or thinking about the election and the threat of theft -- and embrace both/and thinking.
We do everything we can to win more votes than the opposition and then we fight to make sure those votes are counted.

7. Thanks for the plan...even if the Democrats won't do it. |
|
I have seen so many messages about people asking "What do we do if/when the Republicans steal the election?" And the people who post them seem to be trolling for answers like "We get guns and kill them all" - then deny the were inciting violence.
Although I fear the Democrats in charge of the party are too cowardly and corrupt to contest a rigged election, at least you, eridani, laid out a respectable and honest plan for what they SHOULD do. And for that I thank you.
Now it's just a matter of holding my breath.
