Iraq accepted Bush's ultimatum before invasion
Hossam Shaltout, a former political adviser to Saddam Hussein's son, said today that before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in March of 2003, Saddam expressed his intent to yield to all American demands, but that the Bush administration refused his offers, according to a press release on Yahoo News.

Shaltout is a Canadian citizen who claims he was beaten repeatedly by U.S. officers while in an Iraqi detention camp, under suspicion of once having been a "right hand man" for Saddam Hussein.

"Saddam was willing to yield to all American demands, announced and unannounced, to reach peaceful resolution," said Shaltout, "but the Bush administration, including Elizabeth Cheney, undersecretary of State, David Welch, the U.S. ambassador in Egypt, and Gene Cretz, his political attache, did not respond to his offers."

1. This was reported at the time of the invasion, though I never saw it
confirmed "officially." Be nice if people finally hear this, and it sinks in.

The IWR was touted by Democrats like Wes Clark and both Clintons as a way to put pressure on Hussein to make him comply with demands. Hillary said in her floor speech before the vote that she was voting only to give Bush the power to pressure Hussein, and hoped he would use that power to avoid war. The tragedy is that it worked, but Bush invaded anyway, murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent people for his own ego.

There is no Hell hot enough for Bush.

elections. Saddam and his sons basically surrendered to avoid Shock and Awe. But Smirk has killed 650,000 people anyway, just because he likes killing.

4. Kerry brought it up many times saying Bush didn't HAVE to invade, but media
allowed Bushies to treat him like a conspiracy theorist and no insider Dems like Biden or Clinton would get on camera to back up Kerry's points and counter the lies coming from BushInc.

The media did NOTHING to pursue the news and let BushInc have its spin completely untested by any investigative reporting.

5. It is no surprise that our illustrious USA ranks 56th in Freedom of the Press
Right after Croatia (54th) and Tonga (55th) BUT before Uruguay (57th). :wow:

Oh boy, I can hardly wait for the Pentagon to pay off more bloggers to spew propaganda. In other words, "Who the hell are you gonna believe - your lying eyes and ears or Dear Leader's Pentagon Channel? If you don't adore our Dear Leader, the terrorists win."

Just when you think that it could NOT possibly get as corrupt, Dear Leader and his henchmen come up with more underhanded tactics to keep the American People in the dark. :(

This was happening as a result of collective UN pressures before the IWR was passed.
