a wishlist of best-ever dream headlines and lede sentences for newspapers & broadcast news segments on November 8th.

a few of mine:

BLUE TSUNAMI - Dems Take Congress; Bush Becomes Lame Duck
Winning seven close Senate races and taking a 240-195 lead in the House, the Democratic Party regained all the ground it had lost since 1994, and is now poised to set the legislative agenda for the first time in over a decade.

DEM SWEEP! - Happy Days Here Again for Democratic Party

SENATE SURPRISE - House Goes Blue As Expected--So Does Senate

GOP FAILS MIDTERMS - Voters Rebuke Republicans Over Iraq, Deficit

11. Neo-con Agenda On Trash-heap of History
Will moderates ever believe them again? These morons don't realize their entire agenda is on the line. Even though Iraq is going south faster than Michigan retirees on an October weekend, they think they can pick up again in January with their loony amendments, anti-immigration acts and putrid court appointments. Too bad for them, it all gets thrown out in the Nov. 7 bathwater.

Funny, in 20+ years, they dug our grave, put up a headstone and we complied by putting one foot in and the Neocons come along, push us aside and jump in themselves.

43. Here's a few
DEMOCRATS TAKE HOUSE AND SENATE:
A blue wave swept across America as Democrats trounced Republicans from coast to coast.

BUSH DECLARES VICTORY
In a bizarre twist, President Bush insisted that the Republicans had triumphed. According to White House spokesman Tony Snow, the White House staff is trying to decide how to tell him. "This is worse than Katrina" said Snow speaking of the well known incident in which former White House Chief of Staff had to show the President a DVD of newsclips of the devestation.

DENNIS HASTERT INJURED IN FALL FROM OFFICE WINDOW--BYSTANDER CRUSHED TO DEATH--MEHLMAN DENIES SUICIDE ATTEMPT
Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert was injured when he fell from the balcony window in the Speakers office. Mr. Hastert was saved from death when his fall was broken by two Guatamalan gardeners who were trimming the hedges along the side of the capital building. The gardeners were killed on impact. GOP Chairman Ken Mehlman emphatically denied that Mr. Hastert had attempted to take his own life. "Republicans are not jumping out of windows. That is just a Democrat lie."

DICK CHENEY CAUGHT TRYING TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY DISGUISED AS A 90 YEAR OLD WOMAN.
Vice President Dick Cheney was arrested by Paraguayan authorities as he attempted to enter the country with a false passport. Mr. Cheney was in a wheelchair dressed in a flowered skirt and shawl.

My 2-year-old loves it, especially when Phil the monkey gargles the coffee in the opening scenes. And, dammit, I'm not tired of it yet! Maybe I'm mental... lmao

In the movie "Bowfinger", when Steve Martin get caught filming, he launches into a spiel about how the footage he's using is only intended for viewing in Madagascar, which does not have a copyright treaty with the US. I just kinda figured if there's no copyright treaty, there's not extradition treaty as well.

Funny what movie lines stick in your head, huh? I haven't seen that movie in years...
