Media in a lather over Kerry. Now if we can get the media to comment
on Bush's statement that he doesn't care how many more thousands will die as long as the "mission" succeeds. And that is the effect of an open ended policy of no determined end.

1. The public already knew that. That's why they are/were turning
to democratic candidates.

I think Kerry had a political tin ear by using troops as a punch line in a joke.

This will make NO DIFFERENCE to RW voters and to democratic voters. This may make a difference to the undecideds, which is why the WH pounced on it and the RW media washing machine is churning it into a lather.

3. Bush got us stuck in Iraq
He's said that before - it was one of many jabs at Bush. Don't help them spread their lie.

4. Um
I would go out on another limb and suggest that most readers of DU are not going to be voting republican, so your insulting allegation that I'm 'spreading a lie' is vituperative, churlish and idiotic.

Mr. Kerry is allowing the media to suggest that Kerry is 'making fun of the troops'....the fact that a close reading of his joke will show that is not true, is of no moment.

The very fact of USING TROOPS AS A PUNCH LINE IN A JOKE, when people are upset about losses in Iraq and are BLAMING REPUBLICANS is stupid beyond comprehension.

5. He didn't - it's a LIE
You can keep saying he did or tell the truth. The joke was targeted at Bush. Period. Make your choice who you stand with.

7. Please slow down in Kerry worship mode and LISTEN
HE USED TROOPS IN IRAQ AS A PUNCH LINE IN A JOKE>

It makes no difference that the joke was aimed at Bush*. People are pissed about Iraq and are voting Dem in protest against Bush*. These are the same people who apparently are upset our troops are getting their asses handed to them.

It was stupid to do so in this climate so close to an election. It is a forking gift for the Rovians to use on corporate media, which they are happily doing at this moment.

Kerry is a klutz

10. NO HE DID NOT
Putting your hatred of him ahead of the TRUTH says more about YOU than anything else. It's sick sick sick. YOU are giving the gift to Rove. Just like I'll bet you did in 2004 - did you repeat their lies then too???

11. John? Is that you?
calm down John. I know you lost the election, but hey, I gave you money, and I'm disappointed, too.

But, please listen to me.

He was talking about troops in Iraq, now wasn't he, using them as a foil for Bush failing to serve in Vietnam.

Fine for David Letterman. Fine for Jay Leno.

But hey, its seven days before the election and you really need to keep the focus on Bush and his disasterous war and not on John Kerry. People are mad about Iraq because american troops are getting blown up. Let's leave the jokes using troops as a foil out of the public speeches, OKAY JOHN?

12. You're on ignore
If this were my board, you'd be out as a disruptor. He was not using the troops as a joke. I don't know why you'd want to spread this shit, even Chris Matthews knows what he was saying. Good bye.

8. To those paying attention, sure
RWers are going to vote republican
Solid democrats are going to vote democratic.

NOTHING will change that.

ITS THE 15% in the middle who pay little attention that we are both fighting over. Kerry was dumb to say what he said and give the Rovians an opening.

stupid stupid stupid

2. Good news is at least the MSM is showing themselves to be biased
towards the Republicans as we knew they were. No one should have any doubts given their overspin for Bush.
