Diebold is screaming to HBO to pull the documentary about their voting machines??
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 07:10 PM by larissa
OMG!!!! What friggin hypocrits!

BTW.. I just watched Bev Harris on Lou and she did a pretty good job.. I didn't catch the name of the guy who was also on, but he was GREAT!

Lou said that he's extended countless invitations to Diebold to come on his show to give their side of the story...

But that they continually REFUSE to come in!

Gee.... .... why is that ya suppose?

2. BTW.... the documentary airs November 2nd...
And I don't have HBO.. so I sure hope that some DU'ers here update us on how it goes!

HBO said to Diebold that they will absolutely, 100% NOT pull the documentary and they question the motives of Diebold for wanting it removed if they claim their machines are on the up & up.

4. No, no.... it can't be true!

People might get wise to the whole "stolen elections" thing... If you own Diebold stock, I'd dump it before that special airs! LOL!

5. LOL... The only person I've ever known of that holds Diebold stock is Ken Blackwell - remember..
...all the stories that claimed he had forgotten he owned it? ...As usual, the stories pretty much stayed low-profile and never made it to primetime news like say.. Kerry's miss-quote today.

"Shocking Diebold Conflict of Interest Revelations From Secretary of State Further Taint Ohio's Electoral Credibility
by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman

Ohio is reeling with a mixture of outrage and hilarity as Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell has revealed that he has owned stock in the Diebold voting machine company, to which Blackwell tried to award unbid contracts worth millions while allowing its operators to steal Ohio elections. A top Republican election official also says a Diebold operative told him he made a $50,000 donation to Blackwell's "political interests."

A veritable army of attorneys on all sides of Ohio's political spectrum will soon report whether Blackwell has violated the law. But in any event, the revelations could have a huge impact on the state whose dubiously counted electoral votes gave George W. Bush a second term. Diebold's GEMS election software was used in about half of Ohio counties in the 2004 election. Because of Blackwell's effort, 41 counties used Diebold machines in Ohio's highly dubious 2005 election, and now 47 counties will use Diebold touchscreen voting machines in the May 2006 primary, and in the fall election that will decide who will be the state's new governor."

6. Quote: "Blackwell says that in the process he was "surprised" to learn he owned Diebold stock"
By the way, is Blackwell still involved in elections or did he have to step down to run for Governor?

8. He did not step down and is still exercising his power in Ohio
elections as Secretary of State. That's the part that is SO SCARY!

7. Blackwell also owns stock in the company that makes the
"morning after" abortion pill, yet he panders to the Religious Right and plays them like a fiddle.

He was also the Bush/Cheney campaign director for Ohio in the 2004 elections.

It just shows you that Blackwell, if not corrupt, sure has a horrible sense of judgment.
