Get your shameless new John Kerry thread here!!
:)

Hey, this has as much substances at the other 9 billion threads did.

(Kerry did a brilliant job today not backing down from a ridiculous republican attack and instead going on the offensive. If he had done this in 2004, he would have won by a margin so large it would have been impossible to steal.)

To you whining, sniveling, abused democrats that are still crying "please don't hit me in the face" to the GOP - you are acting like you have Stockholm syndrome. And we will carry you, crying and protesting, to victory anyway.

1. And to you cocky, arrogant, mindless Democrats
who seem to never tire of losing elections, don't worry, we will continue to point out the obvious, which is that John Kerry gave the Republicans a new life last night, and he needs to take it away by a) issuing a statement of regret for any unintended offense that may have been taken, and b) going back to to that cozy townhouse of his in Boston and watching tapes of old Red Sox games until next Wednesday morning.

2. Are you a Republican?
"we will continue to point out the obvious"

Who's we?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you are talking an "Us and them" thing.

3. That's Rude.
Still, why should Kerry apologize for a joke clearly aimed at Bush?

4. We never lost an election doing this because we haven't DONE THIS
We started LOSING when we adopted the sniveling, pathetic, traitorous strategy of the DLC that included capitulating to everything the GOP tells us we need to do, allowing them to completely frame every issue, crying and apologizing all over ourselves every time they say we should, and begging them not to hit us in the face again like a broken, victimized abuse victim.

That approach, which we have had for TWELVE FUCKING YEARS NOW HAS FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED FAILED!

So, you sir - and I say this with all due respect - can go to bed, please.

Those of us with spines are back in town, and we're taking over. So get used to it.

We haven't lost an election in twelve years because the democrats have been to bold, or refused to do what the GOP tells us we should do. We have lost over and over and over again thanks to people who share theories like yours, that we dare not speak the truth or defy the GOP when it frames the debate or else we'll lose - and ironically you've had it your way for twelve years while we've LOST EVERY TIME.

Time for you to sit down and watch how its done.

5. Arrogance is what costs us elections, not lack of spine
and flubbed jokes about our supposed superior intellect, coming from obvious snobs like Kerry, are a perfect example of why we lose votes that should be ours. So keep thumping your chest, I'll be here all night to correct you. Get used to it.

9. Your ignorance of the facts is astounding.
First of all, if you think that kerry's comments had anything to do with claiming we have superior intellect, then you're apparently are illiterate.

Second of all, no party loses for twelve solid years because they are arrogant. Bush, Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld and every Republican Senator and Representative in Congress are unapologetically, unabashedly arrogant in ways that are exponentially beyond anything we've ever see before. And they come right out and say it, they make no secret of it. And many if not all of them are ivy leaguers just like everyone else in the beltway. And yet they win.

They win in part because for twelve years the national democratic party has listened to the DLC, and the DLC has utterly, wholly, colossally FAILED in every conceivable way. They've never had a successful election cycle since the republicans took control of congress in 1994. They're strategy of being so much like the republicans that no one can tell the difference, never fighting back when attacked, always rolling over to the will of the other side, and begging for scraps from the GOP masters table is one of the biggest reasons why this country is falling apart.

And people such as yourself, who fall for Republican framing of the issues, and republican language are part of the problem, not the solution. We lose votes when we abandoned our courage, our principles and our convictions, for a sniveling, pitiful "please don't hit me" strategy offered to us by the DLC.

But its ok, you can go right ahead touting the exact same tired old bullshit that has been thrown around by the failed, pathetic DLC for twelve years with NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. And we'll go ahead and win.

7. Ok.. I missed it, what happened? What did Kerry say
that got the Repubs all in a tizzy. I've been on a self-imposed news blackout for the past few days.

8. that isn't the point, it seems to me.

this isn't about john kerry, and it isn't about whether we are whining.

this is about 200 congressional races across the entire country. and tomorrow,
the local news in all of them will be dominated with our candidates being asked
if they support or reject kerry's comments, and their rethug opponent trying to
twist it to their advantage.

the point is that this didn't have to happen. the momentum was all in our favor
right up until this afternoon. while I suspect it still will be tomorrow, it just
stands to reason that the last thing we needed when everything was going our way
was a change of subject.

10. Locking.
The fact that this thread is getting locked was pretty predictable!

Remember- we're going for good discussion here, not flamebait or flamefests! Good discussion is so much more fun for everyone- especially your friendly neighborhood moderators :hi:
