Rethug vote suppression tactic at Fannie Mae
A relative of mine works for Fannie Mae, the Federal National Mortgage Administration in Washington DC. The majority of Fannie Mae's 3,000-plus workforce is Democratic.

So what does Fannie's rethug CEO, Dan Mudd, do to make sure these workers have a harder time getting to the polls on Election Day?

Why, he schedules a mandatory meeting for all staff at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, Election Day! So they can forget about trying to vote first thing in the morning.

Since many Fannie employees have to work late every day, due to forced, unpaid overtime, this looks like another rethug dirty trick to suppress the votes of Democrats. Of course it's too late now for them to get absentee ballots, since Maryland's request deadline was yesterday, Oct. 31.

DO ANY OTHER DU'ers KNOW OF SIMILAR TACTICS BEING USED BY OTHER RETHUG EMPLOYERS AROUND THE UNITED STATES?

If this is being done routinely, it's time to out them in the media.

2. Many states mandate time off to vote.
D.C. doesn't seem to be among them, at least not according to this list.

4. That would make rethugs doubly happy
A real twofer -- suppress the vote and help demolish the middle class.

5. Corporations All Unabashed GOP shills ...
I will always remember my 2000 experience.
I worked at GE and had a cube near the back stairs which meant a lot of foot traffic passed me by ... So I figured what the hey, and taped up a small "no w" sticker ( a beutiy which featured the decider at a confernece table holding a bottle of jim beam while seated in front of a portrait of jesus" ...
Anyhow ... Within a day it was demanded by all three of my direct superiors that I should immedietly remove this politcal ad or face consequences, as all poilitics were forbiden inside the corporation ..
LOL
Of course I had no choice but to remove it but I did wonder aloud as to why every day I had to pass by an SUV plastered with Bush signs that was parked all day every day on the sidewalk in front of the main entrance practicaly blocking the doors.... on the freaking sidewalk for christs sake ... but noone semmed to notice that ...
Wonder how long it would have taken the tow truck to find me so parked ...
Still pissed about that episode ... grrrr :)
