Per Chip Reid (MSNBC): Kerry flap hurts Republic Party candidates
Here's his line/theory/news report's general gist:

Il Dunce has been giving hard core, red meat speeches to highly partisan crowds in deeply red districts. The speeches were not widely shown on teevee. Now, with the Kerry flap, these speeches are being broadcast widely. And that's HURTING many Republic Party candidates since they're now forced to address Iraq - something they'd hoped to avoid.

As an example, in counterbalance to Harold Ford's calling for a Kerry apology, we have Lincoln Chaffee asserting over and over again that he voted against the IWR! And that's not helping him very much. Its even worse in districts where Republics who voted *for* the IWR are being made to own up to it.

So it all comes down to Il Dunce's red meat, partisan speeches. They only play well in nut districts.

This will blow over very quickly since it helps no one, really.

1. So perhaps Kerry was a participant in a carefully crafted Rovesque
type smoke and mirrors scheme?

That would be hilarious, but I'm not sure that's what happened. Although anything that keeps Iraq in the forefront has to be good at this point, America needs to remember the price we're paying for Bush's lies.

6. This makes sense, but
you never know. It should have died down, but the corporate media keeps distorting Kerry's remarks out of context and repeating the story as though Kerry, the war hero, is the villain. At this point, people don't even know what he said, just that he "insulted" the troops.
This is such a non-issue that it's ridiculous to think people will let this influence them in their voting.

7. Matched to the current meltdown

where US troops on Sockpuppet Bush's puppet's orders abandoned posts and territory to militias the story should grow into the reality. Does Bush or Cheney even know the degrading dilemma they are now forced into? That in the midst of a charm offensive on success and HOPE for the illegal invasion? The parameters of this idiotic attack on Kerry are so thin and narrow that the truth about Iraq is bursting through on all sides. I would accuse Cheney of drawing down troops from their positions to spare embarrassing casualties during the week before election and then the nerve to send in more troops into this political chess game charade that does nothing about Iraq at all.

If only the MSM could acknowledge it.
