in spite of the fact that Snow blew it off today in the smear press conference on Kerry. The reporter is in Baghdad.

1. Snow never said it was incorrect.
I read the other thread and posted on it. Snow said it was an irrelevant snapshot of violence that took place a long time ago (the 18th of October) at the height of Ramadan and is now ancient history. He threw out statistics that the violence has dropped by this or that percentile in the time since. No word on how much of that was due to blockading Sadr City (that's over with now).

Snow's saying two weeks is a long, long time and things are much better now. He's mendacious, and he blew the chart off, but not by arguing that it WAS incorrect ON OCT 18. He just artfully created certain impressions that made it appear he was saying even more when he was not.

None of which proves that Iraq is not near chaos. It's just stupid mendaciousness over the degree of closeness being either significant or insignificant.
