Election Polls - 11/01/06
We'll make this a daily thing to keep the DU board from getting so cluttered and knocking other threads off the first page. Each day, someone can start a thread titled "Election Polls - 11/?/06" for all House, Senate, Governor and other polls. The first post can just say "Here are today's polls" and you can leave a comment on your own thread with new polls you found.

Just leave a comment with the appropriate title (ex: "Mike Hatch - Minnesota Governor") to make it obvious. Please have all opinion-related material enclosed in the comment, not any of the titles. Keep the titles pure. This could make things much easier.

If you want to comment on a poll someone else left in a comment, the titles shouldn't matter. Here's an example:

Thread: "Election Polls 11/01/06" (Message inside
Comment: "Mike Hatch - Minnesota Governor" (opinions/etc. inside)
Reply Comment: "Awesome! Go Mike Hatch!" (further opinions inside)

Comment: "Amy Klobuchar - U.S. Senate, Minnesota"
Reply Comment: "Amy Kicks Butt!"

It should work pretty smoothly as I've seen similar things on other forums. Go ahead and start leaving comments with today's polls!

4. Mike Hatch - Minnesota Governor (+6)
University of Minnesota poll has Hatch up 45-39.

I couldn't believe when the Star Tribune had him ahead by 9%, but as someone else pointed out, they tend to show trends before the other polls show them. Since then, at least 2 other polls have shown him with roughly 6-point leads.

5. Victoria Wulsin - OH-02
Copied from separate post by Rose Siding:

In Ohio's 2nd congressional district, a new SurveyUSA poll shows Victoria Wulsin (D) running just ahead of Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH) in the campaign's final days. Wulsin now leads 48% to 45%.

Compared to an identical poll two weeks ago, Wulsin has gained 8 points; Schmidt has lost 3.

Key finding: "Republicans support Schmidt 5:1. Democrats support Wulsin 15:1. Independents favor Wulsin, 55% to 35%. Those Independent voters provide Wulsin's margin of victory. If they do not turn out on Election Day, Schmidt wins."
