It's my understanding this soldier is an Iraqi by birth. He apparently was captured while going to visit his wife, also an Iraqi.
So, if anything happens to him, the bush administration will smear him and claim he was a spy, or a terrorist infiltrating the ranks.
They clearly don't give a damn about the abandoned soldier, and you can bet it would be totally different if the soldier were "Johnny Jones from Boise, Idaho, with a cute little wife and two blonde-haired, blue-eyed children."
