We should be out there on the internet showing people how they're being used AGAIN by BushCo. Proof that Kerry wasn't talking about the Military should be spread all over the internet.

1. YEah, it's in his prepared text, isn't it? And in previous speeches
as well, from what I understand

3. Hotline said their own reporters heard it many times before and knew right

5. Yes there is, just google. it. But why are we still hashing over a badly told joke?
Edited on Thu Nov-02-06 02:08 PM by Raster
The only reason ANYONE is still talking about this is because it's the only leg--though heavily contrived--that bush* has to stand on. What's worse, a botched joke or a botched war?

And again I ask, who in their right mind would even suspect that a DOCUMENTED, PROVEN war hero with one of the best Congressional voting records concerning military servicemen and women would insult America's fighting men and women with such a crass and inane comment? And remember, this is coming from the American Chickenhawk Party and the Swift Boat Liars, proven to be nothing but partisan hacks. Get real.

8. Are you saying this to someone besides "the choir"?
That's what I'm suggesting is possible by means of the internet.

Has anyone in this thread ever read a book called "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card?

9. I am saying this to whomever would look at your original question and
begin to read the thread. Choir, Alter Boy, Bishop, Churchmouse... I don't care.

11. I'm just suggesting we could be WAY more pro-active in who
sees and interacts with whatever the "evidence" is for this (or anything else).

7. That's too bad, because a serious internet effort could be very instructive.
Where else are you going to be able to show people leaning toward Bush's Base what that means in terms of how Bush uses his base. Where else do you get direct contact with those kinds of people, which, if you're respectful, articulate, and smart, could be an opportunity like none other you'll ever encounter to get around MSM.

"The Party" says the story is over now, but perhaps it's "the Party" that's over. Anything that fragile is at least doubtful . . . .

13. Two things:
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 02:35 PM by Zodiak Ironfist
1. The internet is already full of information that proves without a shadow of a doubt that Bush is a liar and a thug of the lowest calibur. If Bushbots have deliberately not looked at that info already, who is to say they wil look at this, now?

2. A number of conservatives have expressed their disgust with Bush in trying to distort Kerry's intent with the botched joke. If the freepers cannot even read the writing of their own pundits, why would an effort of ours be listened to when we are "the enemy".

Bush is down to the authoritarians and the bigots in his base, now. There is no one of reason left. There is no one left to convert. The rest can only be dealt with by defeating them in this election.

And I have read "Ender's game", "Speaker of the Dead", and "Ender's Shadow". If you are referring to the fictional Locke and Demosthenes and their immmediate effect on the politics of Ender's world, I must remind you that "real" internet is not structurally the same as OSC's...nor are the politics.

Those that want to now that Kerry told a botched joke that got distorted waaay out of proportion by the Repukes knows it already. The rest do not want to know.

10. Why do you want the story over? Botched joke vs. botched war...
Edited on Thu Nov-02-06 02:41 PM by ClassWarrior
...Kerry's apology for a botched joke vs. Bohner's refusal to apologize for blaming the troops... Lots of opportunities to indict the Rape-Publicans...
